Leading on from the other thread I just wanted a quick straw poll.

I'm now paying £185pcm for a small 3 bed maisonette. It just feels so much?

We’re £145 pcm for a 2-bed semi, 2 adults + 1 child. Not in debt but not building much credit either, so I expect it’ll go up once winter hits.

£65 for me and two pets,1 bedroom flat but no carpets so gets a bit chilly in winter. I'm very economical with heating as have to be.

It is affordable, but it's crazy. I'm wondering what I should be doing about it now.

Thing is I've looked solar panels and the outlay is about 15k so never seems worth it for the supposed savings

It's the electricity usage that I think it's worth investigating because there's no reason why old houses (or large ones, unless they have a lot of occupants) should use a particularly large amount of electricity, unless you've got some form of electric heating.

I pay 150 and can't come up with any more than that. I get into more debt each month but ... I don't have any more to give them.

Averages about £100pm, as more like £60 in summer and £110 in winter
2 bed flat

3 bed semi, £150 dd but currently £400 in credit. I’m going on maternity leave at Christmas so plan on reducing my monthly payments at that point and hopefully using the built up credit to pay for the winter months. Hoping not to turn the heating on for another month or so yet.
