How did you celebrate your 10 year wedding anniversary?

I’ve seen people (normally the insta gram types or celebs) do vow renewals which look like full blown weddings and have friends who marked the occasion by going to the pub or for a nice meal. Others got divorced 😂 Ours is looming and I’m interested to know how people celebrated (or didn’t!)

We were supposed to be holidaying in Sorrento with our (then) teenagers, but it was 2020, so we just had a nice meal in the garden...

Nothing. Thanks Covid!

Went to "TEN"erife!

Had photoshoot with the kids on the day.

Celebrated our 10th anniversary with a positive pregnancy test for DC2.
DC1 (7yo at the time and had been asking for a brother or sister) was overjoyed and fully involved in the anticipation.
We bought each other a Longines watch (Dolce Vita Tonneau) and DC1 sat on a chair in the corner of the shop, singing and rocking in delight!
I associate the watch more with that memory TBH.

Incredibly, I do actually remember what we did on our 10th anniversary, even though it was 37 years ago! We were temporarily living overseas at the time and I remember we went to a restaurant and had a nice seafood lunch.

Ate some ready made party style food, with a couple of glasses of wine and a tin of paint, as had just got the keys for our new home and DD2 was just 6 weeks old :) we had always said we'd do Vegas for our 10 years, but I was quite happy with how it turned out in the end

I went on a 2 week cruise.

Without him?!

PaddlingSwan · 09/09/2025 07:05

What on earth is a ten year anniversary?
I assume you mean: Did you celebrate your 10th wedding anniversary?
Yes, I did. I went out for supper at a local, very good, but sadly now demised French restaurant. Alone, as my husband had died 7 years earlier.
It was my 25th wedding anniversary this year, I wanted to celebrate, but couldn't decide what to do.
Any suggestions?

We went back to Cologne Christmas markets.. which is where we got engaged… for a lovely weekend without the children…

macshoto · 09/09/2025 22:46

Safari to Botswana and visiting Victoria Falls.
by far the most expensive holiday we have been on, but well worth it.
Need to think about what we are going to do for our 20th anniversary next year…

Billybob10 · 10/09/2025 07:21

Ours is next July we’ve booked 10 days away full board… due to work commitments we never get more than a week off so 10 days for 10 years lol

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 10/09/2025 07:23

It was in the middle of lockdown so we had a very nice bottle of champagne on the sofa!

Sunshineandgrapefruit · 10/09/2025 07:23

Go out for a posh meal like we do every year. 10 years isn't long in the grand scheme of things. 25 years I would maybe stretch to a weekend away!

Zumbador · 10/09/2025 17:03

Ours is next year and we plan to have drinks at the beautiful bar where we got married, inviting most who came to the wedding (which was quite small) and a few other friends that we couldn’t invite at the time. DD has already planned what she’s going to wear.

Runnersandtoms · 11/09/2025 07:13

We're coming up to 25 years. Had a party for 10. For 15 and 20 we did a night away in a hotel, with the kids at grandparents. Probably do similar for 25.

dancinginthekitchen · 11/09/2025 07:15

We had a baby!

Nothing! We never do. As long as they keep coming we’re happy. But the hats just us.

That's pretty much us too, hats and all! Maybe we'll do something for our twentieth in a few years now that the children are all older.

Alongthetowpath · 11/09/2025 07:28

We usually go out for a meal, but DH was actually abroad with work over our 10th anniversary, in a very beautiful place that I would love to visit
We did consider me going too, but the kids were very small, no childcare, etc. We went out for a meal (kids in tow) after he got back.

So we are going to go to the beautiful destination for our 25th wedding anniversary and stay in a lovely hotel! Kids will be late teens and can be left at home.

Notmyrealname22 · 11/09/2025 07:34

I don’t recall, it was 6 years ago. If I had to guess, probably a bottle of champagne and a charcuterie/cheese board for dinner after the kids went to bed. I doubt we would have bothered with a babysitter and going out for a proper meal.

Elevenerife · 11/09/2025 07:41

Went back to the hotel we stayed in on our wedding night for a weekend away and had a fancy meal. It was nice
