How did you celebrate your 10 year wedding anniversary?

I’ve seen people (normally the insta gram types or celebs) do vow renewals which look like full blown weddings and have friends who marked the occasion by going to the pub or for a nice meal. Others got divorced 😂 Ours is looming and I’m interested to know how people celebrated (or didn’t!)

I don't remember marking our 10th anniversary at all, then I realised it was because we'd have had ebf 4mo DD2 at that time. No chance of a night out even if we could have paid a sitter. So we would have spent a fairly normal night at home with our dcs, which was what made me happiest anyway.

No idea! We may have gone out for a meal. It was nine years ago. We won’t have don’t anything spectacular.

DappledThings · 08/09/2025 20:39

We had 2 nights at a nice hotel in London and went to Tailenders live.

Can't remember 😂
Currently got 3 weeks to plan our silver wedding and no idea what to do 🤣. We did have a week in Zakynthos already though.

MB34 · 08/09/2025 20:48

We had a 5 year old and a 3 year old at the time so we were lucky to get the grandparents to babysit and we had a night out in a city near us and stayed in a posh hotel.
Our present to each other came 9 months later - our third baby 😊

We went to Paris, splashed out on a lovely hotel with views of the Eiffel Tower from the windows of our suite. It was our first proper trip to Paris and we loved it.

Boymom43 · 08/09/2025 20:48

We had our first family holiday abroad with the kids to celebrate our 10th anniversary

Moellen54 · 08/09/2025 20:49

Our is next May. We had planned to go back to Madeira and might still do. But I would like to see if we could get a church blessing. We couldn't marry in church as Im a divorced catholic but a blessing would be good

Cynic17 · 08/09/2025 20:52

Dear God, I've no idea - is 10 years a thing? It was probably just a normal working day..... although, now I think about it, my husband was working in Australia at the time..... I was in the UK 😂

PermanentTemporary · 08/09/2025 20:53

Had a nice pizza on a camping holiday in Brittany.

Tootiredtothinkofacatchyusername · 08/09/2025 20:59

We had a long weekend away in Ibiza Old Town whilst the GPs had the kids! Was so nice and chilled!

alittlequinnie · 08/09/2025 20:59

We both took the day off work and we went to Avoncroft Museum.... it's a museum that re-builds buildings that were in other locations.

They had a windmill and a prefab and a gypsy caravan... and a jail... which my husband shut me in!

We then had cakes in the cafe!

We are rock and roll! 😮

historyinthemaking · 08/09/2025 21:01

We are 10 years this November and it never even occurred to me to mark it as any more special than 9 or 11 years. We will probably just go for an overnight in the city as that’s our fav way to spend anniversaries

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 08/09/2025 21:02

Long weekend in a lovely spa hotel by the sea without the DC.

EmmaStone · 08/09/2025 21:07

Parents looked after the kids and we went to Lisbon for a long weekend. For our 20th, kids had just done A Levels and GCSEs, and as a family went European interrailing.

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 08/09/2025 21:08

Night away in a hotel in a lovely city an hour away. Went back to our wedding hotel (other end of the country) for a long weekend earlier in the year with the DC.

JaninaDuszejko · 08/09/2025 21:13

We had a 1 year old and a 2 year old and if I remember correctly we went out for dinner to a Michelin starred restaurant. I don't think it's far enough into a marriage to do anything other than a small personal celebration. We had a party for our silver wedding anniversary but that feels a lot more significant than 10 years.

caringcarer · 08/09/2025 21:15

I went on a 2 week cruise.

LimoncelloSpritzplease · 08/09/2025 21:17

Think we probably just had a meal at home and a bottle of wine as we had no sitters.

Jok77 · 08/09/2025 21:28

We went to the park with our son and hired a pedalo. Pedals broke half way across the lake. Engineer hubby had to do an emergency repair!

Meredusoleil · 08/09/2025 21:33

Mediterranean cruise with the kids.

Glow23 · 08/09/2025 21:36

We went to Morocco and did a sunrise hot air balloon ride.

Norugratsatall · 08/09/2025 22:28

Grandparents babysat the two young children and we went to Florence and Venice! That was 24 years ago.

TwoLeggedGrooveMachine · 08/09/2025 22:38

Not a lot as I was 38 weeks pregnant with first baby, yes it took 10 years to get around to it

Waitingfordoggo · 08/09/2025 23:01

My husband surprised me with a long weekend in Florence, and gave me a beautiful eternity ring while we there. I’m not sure he’d
ordinarily have gone ‘all out’ like that, but I’d been having an awful year with both of my parents gravely ill. My Dad had died in the summer, and then my Mum died 5 days before the Florence trip. But of course we went anyway, even though it felt a bit discombobulating at times - I remember clearly standing in a piazza sobbing my eyes out listening to a classical guitarist. 😭 But we did have a really lovely time.

For our 15th we went to Santorini, and to Seville for our 20th. We’ve 3 years till our 25th so looking forward to choosing somewhere special to visit!

My in-laws have been lovely and were happy to have the kids while we were away (except for the most recent one when they were old enough to stay home along!)
