Is Purdy and Fig worth it?

Totally been drawn in by all the bloody social media adds and the fact I want to rid my house of the many different cleaners I have! Is the complete cleaner kit worth it?

I want something that will leave my bathroom sparkling (including loo) and will rid the tiles of limescale. (The water in my area is super hard)

Also, what are the smells like? They have an autumn range but have no idea what that is? Please share all reviews (good and bad)

I do love the poo drops though! They are my favourite for getting rid of the stinky smells that my DH and DCs create or just giving the place a lift when guests are due to make the place smell cleaner than it is!

CeciliaMars · 05/09/2025 19:11

No. Emperor’s new clothes.

Hedjwitch · 05/09/2025 19:15

I'm just trialling some stuff from Home Things which is cheaper and better for the environment. Mostly though I.use bicarb or vinegar which works as well as anything else. A few drops of essential.oil provide scent if you like. As PP said, cleaning products are a massive con.

The smells aren't great and the product is way over-priced for what it is. Much better eco-friendly stuff out there.

Loafbeginsat60 · 05/09/2025 20:11

It’s no better than zoflora and ten times the price. I do like the glass bottles tho I have 3 and the cloths are nice.

dabdab · 05/09/2025 20:37

Nope - previous poster said- Emperor’s New Clothes. Essential oils that smell nice in the bottle which you dilute with water and spray it on your surfaces. Smell does not last and seems to have same effect as spraying water on surfaces and wiping off.

White vinegar on cotton wool left in surface or splashed in loo overnight will remove limescale amazingly well ( and cheap!) any old soap melted ito water and put in a spray bottle will clean surfaces. Vinegar with water and newspaper to dry it for windows.
absolutely no need to buy lots of products or indeed this one. We are all being conned!

But do we really need or homes smelling like 2 day old chips.

TizerorFizz · 06/09/2025 07:12

@overwhelmedsinglema Get a water softener. Best investment you can make in a hard water area! We just use a standard cleaning product and cleaning is a quick wipe down.

Obeseandashamed · 06/09/2025 07:19

Nope I cancelled my subscription

overwhelmedsinglema · 06/09/2025 07:26

Thanks everyone! I normally use Method, so will stick with that! I rent a flat so sadly can’t get a water softener but if anyone has any ideas for getting rid of limescale easily I’d love you forever!

Viakal is far and away the best thing for limescale on a daily/weekly basis. For shower heads/taps/kettles etc I make up solutions of citric acid (chemist or amazon sell it) and leave overnight. For toilets, spirit of salts will give you basically brand new porcelain.

MeetTheGrahams · 06/09/2025 08:00

I thought it was me.
Nice bottles and nice cloth
Smell doesn't last
Freshly cut grass smell this summer was meh at best
Hate all the cedarwood ones (and there are too many) - smell like mothballs
Are greasy and leave a residue on all surfaces, dont use on laminate floors!

A shame really as it was such a lovely idea, but then again I think it has made the market sit up and take note, and I've noticed nicer smelling (not greasy) products appearing on the shelves to rival P&F.

Cancelled my sub after three rounds

Delatron · 05/09/2025 17:12

I don’t think the smell lasts. And my bottle broke - as in the spray nozzle.

The plastic tube in my spray bottle arrived broken and omg the drama that ensued as a result. But no, it is definitely not worth the money.

Charabanc · 06/09/2025 08:27

As PPs have said, Viakal is the absolute best for limescale. We live in a very hard water area, and it returns sinks and basins to looking like new. If you have some stubborn limescale, say round a tap, spray a load of Viakal on and let it sit for a few minutes.

TonTonMacoute · 06/09/2025 09:32

I like them but the initial delivery plus one top up will probably keep me going for years.

I have cancelled but because I just don't use that much cleaning stuff rather than because I don't like it. I would say that what I have is worth what I paid for it, it only really because of the introductory deal.

Memo88 · 07/09/2025 07:25

I swear by kilrock limescale remover gel, I think it works far better than vikal.

sassyclassyandsmartassy · 07/09/2025 09:16

Shiremum40 · 05/09/2025 19:05

No and it left some surfaces sticky. The smell didn’t last. I went back to method.

👆🏻this. Left my high gloss stone worktops very streaky!

Strangerthanfictions · 08/09/2025 00:14

I didn't like the smells all that much and found it horrendously streaky on many surfaces

Valmaine · 08/09/2025 00:26

No, same as PPS, cannot recommend. I got sucked in by the Insta campaigns last year and despite being pissed off at the sexist bollocks ads - ALWAYS women doing the cleaning, never men - I tried a few products.

Streaky, some fragrances v synthetic smelling, and awful customer service. Not one single product convinced me to buy it again. I feel quite annoyed that I wasted so much money tbh.

I've gone back to Neat and Method!

Rubiscoisfantastic · 08/09/2025 06:03

Smells nice but doesn’t clean very well. I didn’t continue with the subscription.

exse24Londoner · 15/01/2026 11:41

I'm late to this but would like to add - NO!!! they are not worth it, they are wildly expensive & customer service is awful

Agree with another poster - I felt completely ripped off & stupid for falling for it. Instead make your own following Nancy Birtwhistle which works & is a teeny tiny fraction of the price & smells natural too

Frugalally · 15/01/2026 17:55

You can buy dark glass spray bottles for next to nothing at dunelm etc.
I think it’s clever to stick them in a box do it feels like a gift
bicarb is brilliant
Vinegar is brilliant and cheap and doesn’t poison water. The vinegar smell doesn’t last.

Reportingfromwherever · 15/01/2026 18:04

I love it but I also buy it on eBay much cheaper. I hate subscriptions!

GrannyDooun · 15/01/2026 18:45

i don’t think it is worth it and like other posters, was caught up in the hype.

My personal experience is that both the plastic nozzles for the glass bottles leaked.

Some of the fragrances were pleasant but others made me wince.

I only used them for wiping over surfaces in dining and living room, certainly not for cleaning.

Cancelled immediately after receiving my discounted offer as, overall, I was disappointed with the products.

I will say though, that the two cleaning cloths were very nice and I still use them.

Notdanishsusan · 15/01/2026 18:48

So glad I found this, I’ve been de influenced!
