Strangest school phone calls. (Lighthearted)

I have four children, youngest has just started primary one.

I saw the number calling today and was strangely in a meeting with the head about other matters.

I panic, answer to be told

my youngest needs new wellies because there was a frog in hers. Actually multiple frogs, and possibly a newt.

youngest is not a frog fan, but her sister is, and had taken her wellie and made it into a house. Causing youngest to hit the roof.

got me thinking about the random stuff kids do and the (funny afterwards) calls we get. Please don’t get me wrong, I’ve had my share of the serious ones. (Dairy anaphylactic son and custard) but I have so many where the staff and I have laughed after.

last term, actually also DC3.
voicemail, can you call us. DC 3 has found a bee swarm, or maybe caused one.

DS had just started Junior School, and I got a call from the Head to say that he and some other Yr3 boys had been massively inappropriate, slapping Yr6 girls on the bum/chest, apparently at the girls' instigation.

I'm not that sort of parent who thinks their child is an angel, but I know DS and so was querying if they were sure.

Head was getting annoyed, even more so when I queried when it had happened. Head was then getting more annoyed, when I pointed out that it couldn't have been DS, as I'd literally dropped him off 10 mins ago at lunch as we'd spent the morning in A&E.

She rung off, then a few minutes later called back to say it was indeed a different child of the same name Hmm

@GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHERyes, I helped her return the to the pond nearby.

we have a pond here and she’s well versed in moving them from the farm road up to a safe area. Not usually with her sisters wellie though.

During the first Covid lockdown DS’s head of house rang me to ask if we really were having problems with wifi. He thought DS was using it as an excuse. A couple of months later we had our first Teams style parents evening, each appointment was 10mins long. The appointment with Head of house buffered for 8 mins leaving us with just 2 mins to chat. He rather ungraciously conceded that DS had been telling the truth.

People in towns and cities have no idea how difficult wifi/internet can be out in the sticks.
