I know this isn’t a new topic, but perhaps it is worth a revisit from time to time as channels change and develop.

My favourite is Thoughty2. His topics are interesting and his presentation style is engaging.

Im always looking for new channels (non AI narrated) so any suggestions would be great.

I like Charlotte Dobre. She makes me laugh

Chiseltip · 04/09/2025 10:23

Itchyboots.

It's about a lady who travels around the world on her motorbike by herself. She goes to some dodgy places, like Iraq, or some very remote African countries. Fantastic!

Also, I love to watch The Slow-mo Guys. It's things in the world in ultra slow motion.

And of course, Kurt.Caz, a guy who travels to some of the world's most sketchy places, turns on his camera and just walks into whatever he finds. Most of his videos are unedited, in real time. It's fucking addictive, watching how he interacts with people. He has this amazing ability to get people on his side. Even when passing cars are stopping to tell him to get the he'll out of the area before he gets himself killed. His Brazilian vlogs are edge of the seat stuff.

It also helps that he's stunning to look at . . . .😁

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 04/09/2025 10:25

I’ve seen her. She is fun but it’s all a bit repetitive.

The Why Files are a bit of fun too. AJ is a great presenter, heckle fish not so much.

Well I never is a good channel if you like true crime from the past.

I watch Blooms and Greens by Chloe. She's a successful smallholder businesswoman near Galway in western Ireland. She's on Facebook too.

Also lots of restoration channels such as Mister Patina and Cool Again Restoration. These and others restore anything from old tricycles to printing presses. It's very absorbing and educational watching them at work.

Let’s read more for his nice voice when I’m working. I also like Charlotte Dobre.

I've just had to look through my YouTube subscriptions!

  • Jack Edwards - does book reviews and general book-related challenges etc. We have fairly similar taste, so I enjoy hearing his thoughts. It also helps that he's gorgeous. ;)
  • That Chapter - A lovely Irish guy named Mike talking about true crime (I know not everyone's cup of tea). His videos are always beautifully put together and really engaging. He just toes the line of appropriate beautifully.
  • leena norms - a lady from the midlands in her mid to late 30s. Chats about all sorts of things from books, to fashion, to pop culture, to environmentalism. I'm not interested in every topic she discusses, but she's so annoying clever and articulate in a way I could never be.
  • Storror - a group of lads in their late 20s/early 30s doing parkour. They have great banter without being too offensive and "laddish", and are just genuinely talented at what they do. They do just the right amount of showing off their skills and entertaining the audience.
  • GeoWizard - Tom from Birmingham doing various geography related things. He does everything from working out where old photos were taken, to going on crazy "missions" like travelling from point A to point B without using a single road, or by travelling in a straight line. He's got insane levels of fitness and is super-engaging.
  • Joolz Guides - This guy who does walking tours in London pointing out interesting things and telling stories. However, I'd recommend checking out his earlier stuff, as I think he's kind of running out of things to talk about/show!
  • Jenna Marbles - Sadly, she hasn't posted anything in about 4 years now, but I used to love her stuff. It'll all still up on her channel and is still my comfort watch when I can't find anything else.

Emma kenny- crime deep dives, she really explains the psychology of people who commit crimes and has real empathy for victims

princesspadam · 04/09/2025 13:09

I love Mr Ballen

Judgejudysno1fan · 04/09/2025 13:13

Carpetbagger - he is American a s makes videos of himself travelling and experiencing different museums, haunted attractions, fairs, roadside attractions, country parks, and so much more. I watch him daily if I can.

Also enjoy walk with tim and Bald and bankrupt, I like underrated hijabi , her cooking in her car or trying to make something from scratch to beat the delivery driver of rhe exact same dish.

I like Harrison Web, he's really funny and silly. His restaurant reviews are always good quality presenting and fun to watch.

And I also enjoy watching exploring abandoned places. As well as walking in the city, watched walker, wanderizm (videos of just walking in new York and in London in various seasons of the year)

ThejoyofNC · 04/09/2025 13:14

I love bailey sarian. Her dark history series is fascinating.

Arlanymor · 04/09/2025 13:14

That Chapter - true crime - give it a goo!
EmKay - narration of Reddit threads, Robin's narration makes me howl
hbomberguy - watch his video on YouTube plagiarism, it's epic
Daniel Sloss - Scottish comedian
Lunathepantera - because sometimes you just want to watch a black panther...

Also lots of music, abandoned places, rugby and tattoo critique ones, but they are more specific to the stuff I am into.

Judgejudysno1fan · 04/09/2025 13:23

Forgot about Christina Randall and isabell fiori for true crime stuff

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 04/09/2025 13:28

Thanks for all the suggestions.
I like That Chapter too. I’d forgotten about him.

Bob and Brad (RIP Bob) physio
Will Harlow (over 50s physio)

Greenangellite · 04/09/2025 13:32

Forgotten british television. I've watched some oldies you can't get anywhere. Most recently life without george. Which is very mumsnetty as it was about limerance.

IsEveryUserNameBloodyTaken · 04/09/2025 13:34

Another vote for Mr Ballen.

Crojo · 04/09/2025 13:36

Kirsten and Jeorge, they are a lovely German couple living in England and they vlog their stays in quaint quirky places. They’re really relaxing to watch.
I watch a few other channels but it depends on your interests, I like things like thrifting, crafts and home ideas.
