Should I check him in as per the booking?

Travelling today.

One Ds has decided not to come. Ryanair. I need to check in. Do I check him in anyway just in case he changes his mind? If we turn up having checked him in online will there be a problem?

Also I paid for a suitcase next to his name. So I can’t use that suitcase allocation?

I ask because Ryanair try to get extra money wherever possible.

A frequent long haul flyer
And yet you’re even considering putting on his luggage and then no bum on seat.

Surely an experienced flyer would understand the implications of this…. For EVERYONE on the flight?!

Did you not read earlier on I didn’t do it? Calm down.

If there's a chance he'll change his mind I'd check him in online as Ryanair charge you extra to check in at the airport.

I doubt there are any penalties for checking in online and not turning up to board the plane.

I wouldn't do automated bag drop for him (I think you might even need to bring his passport for that?) - as others have said it should get flagged up and his bags removed.

All the best, OP!

If you’re sure he won’t come it might still be worth cancelling his flight. Ryanair won’t refund the ticket price but I think part of the total cost is actually airport fees and taxes and I believe they have to refund that? I’ve definitely recouped that for a „non-refundable“ BA ticket before. Worth checking in any case.

Some of those airlines listed definitely charge extra for checked in bags seat selection on short-haul flights at least.
