I’m looking for UK holiday inspiration for 2026šŸ™

Beach? Mountain? Countryside? Historical building or garden? Waterfall? Museum? Gallery?

Where are your most memorable spots?šŸ’›

Northumbria used to be quiet and fairly cheap, not now.

The Gower is fabulous.

My favourite place in the Lake District is Wastwater - the National Trust campsite at the base of Scafell Pike is absolutely beautiful and Wastwater is just stunning. It is very remote - take what you need food wise. And if kids are playing on the rocks by Wastwater they need beach shoes, the rocks can cut your feet to ribbons.

Kent, lovely towns, buses are excellent and plenty of train stations. Canterbury is worth visiting a wonderful city and easily walkable.

Pembrokeshire is like Cornwall
without the crowds. We stayed in a house overlooking the beach at Broad Haven a few years ago.
The area around Aberdyfi, Tywyn, Barmouth is where I want to retire too, and not too busy apart from maybe bank holidays. A bit further north, Harlech is lovely. All of mid to north Wales has the mountains and the sea in close proximity. Caernarfon is not far if you want more castles.
I enjoyed Northumbria too many years ago and would like to return there. I love the Isle of Man too.

I’d love to see the Isle of Man, I love islands in general. Another is Isles of Scilly and Channel Is.!

Dedham (and the walk to Flatford Mill).

It's betwen Ipswich and Colchester.

Ohh, not been here, have only touched on Suffolk once and driven through Essex. So this could be interesting šŸ’”

I know. Everyone needs to bloody shut up about it before the Cornwall crowd get wind and wreck it.

We went to N’umberland last year, Alnwick, Bamburgh and Seahouses mainly, also saw Lindisfarne and it was absolutely gorgeous and FAR less busy than CornwallšŸ’›šŸ©µšŸ’›
