Schitts Creek, Elementary or The Mentalist.

For films 10 Things I Hate About You or Stardust.

I've started watching Poker Face on Sky, fun and entertaining detective series. You know from the beginning who the villian is. Reminds me of My Name is Earl which I always enjoyed. Other comfort watches are Come Dine with Me, Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes, Father Ted and Game of Thrones.

I love watching old Gogglebox episodes. I find them so soothing just to have on in the background!

On Thursday I had a rubbish day, and my period started yesterday so I was quite emotionally unstable. We have one of those channels way up on Sky that is showing terrible Christmas films every day in July. I picked one out, recorded it, then made my DP watch it with me in the evening. Curtains closed, candle lit, it was honestly just what I needed! I like those films because they are broadly all the same story/same actors.

Call The Midwife got me through the newborn trenches. I also love Motherland and Benidorm as easy watches

Family143 · 26/07/2025 13:12

@Coffeeishot that's exactly how it made me feel.

I loved Poker face! Also Russian Dolls (I think it was called - either Russian Dolls or Russian Doll) featuring the same actress.

Frasier or Buffy for me

Gilmore Girls, especially in autumn.

Upstairs Downstairs, the original 70s series. Every episode is like opening up an old dolls house and peering inside.

Frasier, midsummer murders, poirot, miss marple.

I was talking to my brother about how much stuff from the 90s I’ve been watching as well. I find it comforting, life wasn’t perfect then but seemed more hopeful somehow

billysboy · 26/07/2025 14:08
