Is anyone else following this?

I just caught up on the sentencing - 4 life sentencing. BK is sitting there unmoved and with no reaction whilst the judge have his well thought out and moving judgment.

I think you're right but I think people are also curious as to why he targeted those individuals. I imagine the parents and families want to know but again agree they shouldn't give him the attention.

Yeah, I mean who even knows whether this was the first time he killed people? It reminds me a little bit of Ted Bundy’s frenzied attack on college students. It seems as though their house was both easy to spy into from various angles and easy to break into because doors were often left open.

I've followed since the beginning when the report came out the next morning of the murder. I thought who the hell did this and kept checking back, unable to believe they hadn't caught anyone yet. But they actually clearly knew it was him quite soon and were building their case etc.

I watched the whole trial and cried during Dylan's statement. It really affected me - I think because my mother survived a similar attack as a young woman before I was born. I felt some anger that he showed no remorse or apology given.

I truly hope the survivors can go on to live as happy a life as possible.

There wasn't a trial, so I'm not sure what you watched, maybe the sentencing hearing?

The documentary was profoundly moving. I'm glad it focused on the families and friends, rather than the perpetrator. I hope they find peace and comfort.

Yes, he was an incel and a psychopath. I imagine he hated women and was probably stalking at least one of the victims. The intention would have been to kill the women - the boyfriend just got in the way.

Ultimately, the motive was misogyny.

IShouldNotCoco · 30/07/2025 16:22

The motive could have been sexual, as in the murder of Michelle Martinko who didn’t know her attacker, and who wasn’t caught for 40 years . Some men get off on violent attacks on women - there isn’t always a sign of it at the scene.

I think you're right about him being an incel and a psychopath. It's frightening that he was amongst students all the time as well and no one knew what he was capable of. I'm so glad he's been caught and will be locked up. I still need to watch the documentary.

I listened to the podcast and I don't think there was much given anyway then as to who did it.

I think it's extremely likely that this isn't the first crime he's committed. It's very rare for a killer to go from nothing to committing something as horrific as this.

IShouldNotCoco · 30/07/2025 22:25

I’ve been watching the Prime documentary. I’m in tears. The sheer pain that those poor family members are going through. It’s just every parents worst nightmare isn’t it? I have a daughter about to do her final year at uni.

KeepcalmandtellthemtoFoff · 01/08/2025 09:16

Yes it's absolutely horrific for the families.
