So far 20,000 people supposed to be interested.
What do people think
Is there any possibility of him stopping illegal immigration.
So far I haven't seen anything about immigration on anything about his party
But it's early days ,you never know .

I think it's great. Anything to assist in splitting the left wing vote is fine by me.

Me too! Not that Nigel isn't doing just fine on his own, but this will be a bit of a bonus.

TeenLifeMum · 25/07/2025 14:08

maybe just me but I don’t feel like life has been terrible for the last decade. We have a lovely family, work hard, have nice holidays, have had healthcare. There are annoyances - can’t get dc an nhs dentist for example - but it’s not as bad as you all seem to think so clearly I’m missing something. Some things are better than the past others worse.

Oh, ok. Mumsnet humour certainly has its own style. When I read through that, it seemed less about the names, and more just about the bashing. Hopefully someone will start a third thread, soon.

Have you got a link to the one you've started?

Nope- they are just as extreme as Reform in different ways. Their economic, foreign and defence policies would be disastrous.

We should not be scared to call them out in the same way as Reform.

Absolutely all this.

AllotmentHappy · 25/07/2025 14:59

Funny that because they havent actually posted any policies yet?
They are now up to 230k and considering they don’t even have a name yet… they are doing pretty well!

LlynTegid · 25/07/2025 15:01

New party interest, might gain a few council seats, the existing MPs keep theirs. Not going to be anywhere near as successful as the SDP in the 80s or Reform now.

Viviennemary · 25/07/2025 15:03

He was such a disaster as Labour leader. If he splits the Labour vote then it's good news for the other parties.

He got more votes than Starmer! Real disaster 🙄

Exactly,I can't see any policies on the issues I'm worried about
I suppose it takes time

He's always been against the EU. Which, strangely, makes him similar to Farage!

Christwosheds · 25/07/2025 15:12

Corbyn absolutely gives me the creeps.
A lot of people I know were almost obsessed with him in a slightly culty way. They thought he was a really good person. I do not think he is a good person, I think he is deeply anti semitic and full of his own importance, High on his own alleged virtue.

AllotmentHappy · 25/07/2025 15:13

He might of been, but the way they are going about this is to let the public decide a vast amount of their policies. Hence “your party”.

Anewuser · 25/07/2025 15:14

I think this party will go in the same direction as Change UK went.

PistachioTiramisuLimoncello · 25/07/2025 15:23

HermioneWeasley · 25/07/2025 13:02

He’s a hard left anti semitic nut job as is Sultana.

he absolutely won’t tackle immigration, there will be an open borders policy, if they manage to have any policies at all that aren’t about Gaza.

he’s more dangerous than reform because he actually believes what comes out of his mouth and isn’t an opportunist

He’s a far more decent human being than most MPs.

It’s not votes though is it. We aren’t about to have an election.

Falsely and maliciously accusing individuals of being antisemitic, is in itself an act of antisemitism and damaging to Jewish people

Yup. Being against the Israeli state is not antisemitic. Plenty of Jews are against the starvation of Gaza.

230k is pretty fast, the mentions of Change UK on here, I don’t recall similar traction with the public. If they can get sign ups it’s a start.

sleeppleasesoon · 25/07/2025 15:48

I’ve signed up.

HerewardtheSleepy · 25/07/2025 16:02

A man who couldn't beat Theresa May and Boris Johnson isn't fit to lead a kazoo band let alone a political party.

AllotmentHappy · 25/07/2025 16:05

@PistachioTiramisuLimoncellowhen he ran for PM a few elections ago he got more votes than starmer…..

EsmaCannonball · 25/07/2025 16:45

Politics is so frustrating at the moment. The trad parties are all out of touch, ineffectual and apathetic; Corbyn's party will only split the left-wing vote and we'll be stuck with Reform who will probably be thwarted by the judiciary and the civil service in getting their immigration policies through but be successful in privatising healthcare and dismantling the welfare state.

Labour needs to stop trying to appease fringe and sectarian voters and to start addressing public concerns. Their current direction is batshit and inexplicable. I can't think of a time when MPs seemed so divorced from the realities of everyday life.

User32459 · 25/07/2025 16:46

You're beyond naive if you think communism is the answer.

I hope millions do sign up though as it'll keep Labour out of power.

Ok well we'll just ignore the fact he's a friend of Hamas than shall we? The governing party of Gaza whose states aim is to destroy Israel.

Well the years from 2010 to 2024 told us very well that the Tories weren't the answer either. I'm sure Reform is definitely the suicidal option though.

He'd even be willing to be friends with Israel as it commits genocide if it would work towards peaceful resolution. As he explained, when working towards a peace agreement, all parties around the table are friends when they come together to collectively cease violence. But don't let that stop you putting an insane spin on what he said.
