What do you want for your birthday?

My DH has just asked me what I want for my birthday mid-August and I have absolutely no ideas. I have everything I need, and our house is cluttered enough as it is. We have young kids, so hard to get away for 'experiences' or that sort of thing.

Looking for inspiration! What do you want for your birthday?

Ooh I'm asking for a house deep clean this year. They (oh and son) have no idea how much joy this would give me 🤣

My birthday is at the end of August. We're usually on holiday in Greece so go out to our favourite restaurant with lots of drinks. I've got most things, so I'm happy now with experience or theatre tickets, vouchers for my favourite shops or for the salons I use in our village. This year my DH has bought me a set of my favourite Estee Lauder skincare and a skirt from a local seller. I've also had new ballet shoes and an Estee Lauder gift set from my mum. We're seeing the Magic Flute at the Royal Opera House for DH's birthday and I'll treat him to dinner. I'll also get him something to open on the day - a book, nice choccies etc.

Time together is always more than enough for me. Although when I put this on a similar post previously someone told me I was vile and rude suggesting it.

Really? What on earth was vile and rude about that? I think it's a lovely thing to want.

I wonder what goes through the mind of some people.

I got my Mum’s wedding band when she died last year - 2 sisters got engagement and eternity band. But the wedding band looked so lost without its “mates” I talked about getting an eternity ring to match it (whiite gold) My DH took me aside and told me to get smething nice and it could be birthday and Xmas combined. I was so touched. Note: am not much of a jewellery or things/clutter person but have now a beautiful diamond and white gold ring sitting alongside Mums wedding band and they both look lovely (4th finger of left hand).

A babysitter and a lovely dinner somewhere just the two of you.

That's all i want nowadays (minus the babysitter, as my kids are grown). A special place, champagne, taxi home - that kind of thing.

I love this but it also makes me sad as my husband never ever wants to go for a nice dinner no matter what the occasion ir even if I have published a bloody book or won a huge grant. I ended up having g a breakdown I get so uncared for

Sounds like you may want a new husband for your next birthday, or at very least deserve one.
