Would you eat this

We ordered Thai takeaway on Sunday, including Pad Thai which is still unopened today (Monday). It has been kept in the fridge, in the tub, wrapped in cling film. Would you eat it tomorrow?

So it was delivered yesterday and has been kept in the fridge since delivery? What are you concerned about?

Yes- I'd eat it after re-heating tomorrow!

Amiable · 22/07/2025 00:23

Definitely - in fact I bought Thai takeaway on Friday, and only ate the Pad Thai last night - it was delicious and I’m still here to tell the tale!

Eenameenadeeka · 22/07/2025 00:28

Yes

As long as there isn't additional detail like it sat out for hours and hours yes, would eat

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 22/07/2025 01:12

As long as it’s reheated thoroughly then absolutely! You can’t waste a good pad Thai!

Growlybear83 · 22/07/2025 02:00

Absolutely not!

You’d reheat it?! I usually eat it cold the next day, never left it for 2 days.

Supermarkets are full of ready-meals for re-heating.

AntiquePenguin · 22/07/2025 07:34

I'd eat it cold but I wouldn't risk reheating it.

I’d eat it hot or cold and absolutely would eat it after two days, it’s totally fine.

Bjorkdidit · 22/07/2025 07:38

I would definitely eat it today and would most likely reheat it, likely half arsedly after leaving it on the shelf in my office all morning and not expect any problems.

I have done things like this regularly for decades and never had an issue. I don't understand questions like this.

Doitrightnow · 22/07/2025 07:51

Definitely. Wouldn't think twice. I'd eat it hot.

chunkybear · 22/07/2025 07:54

Absolutely! I count it as nights in the fridge and I do three nights and bin, unless it's rice then 1 night then bin if not eaten by that next day finishing

StrawberryCranberry · 22/07/2025 07:55

Yes I'd eat it.

K1P1K1 · 22/07/2025 07:59

Yes I'd eat it the following day yes. I'd heat it - thoroughly, properly, not hot enough unless it could burn you heat it. But I would eat it cold too.

soupyspoon · 22/07/2025 08:02

Im surprised people ask these questions, how long do you think the ingredients were sitting about at the takeaway for a start and ready meals with over a weeks use by date on them (and no they dont all have 'preservatives' in them)

The amount of food waste in this country is really bad.

My FIL orders takeaways in the evening and then leaves them on the side for 1-2 full days before eating them. Curries, rice, meat on the bone literally anything and while I don’t suggest this at all you’ll be fine eating your one day old food.

Well yes, I’m aware one CAN reheat it, I just prefer it cold!

What method would you choose for reheating? :)

OP posts:
FrenchandSaunders · 22/07/2025 08:34

I'd stick it in the microwave or air fryer until it's boiling. I love leftovers, they're usually nicer a couple of days later. DH, however, wouldn't touch anything like that.

ZoomingSusan · 22/07/2025 08:34

I’d eat it so long as it smells and tastes fresh

Ficklebricks · 22/07/2025 08:35

The problem with takeaways is that they usually aren't freshly cooked on the day you order them. A lot of meat, veg and noodles is pre cooked and then quickly heated up in a wok to be served. If you store it for a day or two after and reheat it then the food has actually been reheated more than once. So it's not the number of days that's dangerous, it's more the number of times it's been warmed up and cooled down.
