Kynren. Just back from it. Have you been? It's bloody amazing!

I don't live far from it in the NE of England. It's been going about 10 years but have never got around to going.

I went tonight and my mind was blown. It's epic. I've seen lots of amazing shows but this topped them imo.
Apparently it's better this year than other years so am glad I waited.
Only downside is a late finish. But we aren't working tomorrow. I often work Sundays but not this week. It was a fairly long wait for the bus to the car park but not too bad.
I'm still buzzing and need to sleep as out for lunch tomorrow.
I imagine people from the US would love it as it's all historical. Not just about the North east.

I said to dh I think once you've been you probably don't need to see it again. But am already doubting myself 😅 I have friends who will love it. It's on annually so maybe I can wait?

How long before do you have to go? I like the look of the Victorian one, but we're not near so we'll have to make a trip out of it.

Sorry what do you mean?

Maybe Beamish?

Possibly? That's a fantastic place. You need at least 2 days there.

Kynren’s got a Victorian themed area in their daytime park?

We’re planning a trip to Kynren’s daytime park later this month, with that one you book your entry time, and then they send you a schedule telling you what time to go to each of the live shows / experiences.
There’s five different sections, including the Victorian Imaginarium.

That's good. I haven't been this year. This thread was started last year.

Oh, I understand now thank you

We went shortly after it started, and then again last year. The core of the show was the same, but the seating, food, and activities beforehand had all improved massively. It is an amazing spectacle; the only bad thing about it was the walk from the station, as PP have mentioned the town itself is pretty run-down.

The NE is really a delight for history buffs. Not only Kynren and Beamish, but more castles and manor-houses than you can hope to see! I'm always slightly surprised when locals have never visited them, but I suppose that's true everywhere.

We went last week to the new daytime theme park.

It was bloody fantastic. The bird show blew me away. Sit near a resting stage to see them really up close. They’ve actually established a breeding programme for some of the birds so are almost a zoo. Also have a very rare ancient breed of sheep.

There’s a small Victorian imaginarium to wander around and the actors are hilarious. They told me they’re building a much bigger one behind it (moving something that closed down south up to there.)

It seemed expensive but for the number of live shows during the day it’s definitely value for money. Horses were great of course.

Theres a fab playground and a Viking village with a couple of live crafts people. Oh and Icelandic hens.

The Victorian place is Beamish, nearby, completely separate place - you actually need two days to do that properly!

Considered this when one of my family visited recently. Have only been in the north east a few months. Will definitely check this out. Thanks for the recommendation.

Several friends volunteer at Kynren every year, they absolutely love it and postpone holidays so they can take part .

We've not been to the new day time show yet, but everyone I know who's been has been very impressed.

They had help from Puy du Fou when setting up, and I believe some of the staff are former Puy du Fou employees.

It's such a shame Bish high street is in the sad mess it is, because the Auckland Project is doing so many great things. Hopefully, when the new park is open, it'll give the impetus for an influx of businesses into the town - there's a few nice shops opened recently.

Totally agree re Bish. And the pub situation is dire! Spoons and not much else.
