My cat just jumped up on and plonked himself in the middle of our Scrabble game, cleaned his nethers for a bit, then jumped back down, knocking the letters about. Good job he's cute.

Bastard cat is ginger too, unsurprisingly.

Brought in a third dead mouse/doormouse this morning, and refused to eat her anti flea and tick chewy thing, despite me breaking it in two for her!

henlake7 · 25/07/2025 16:48

Got under my feet and nearly tripped me up several times.
Pooped on the floor.
Weed on the floor.
Woke me up at stupid o'clock this morning trying to nest in my bed.

I cant even be angry....she is 16 yrs old, blind with dementia. At least she's still here!

Actually I had a ginger cat for 14 years and he was the easiest, gentlest and most chilled cat ever. I now have a tabby/toirtoseshell who is the most high maintenance annoying cat I have ever had. It’s exhausting. I wish I had appreciated my ginger cat more at the time.

Parrot sat on the top of the bookshelf yelling “How’s it going?” at me non-stop for 40 minutes.

This really made me laugh!

Orangemintcream · 25/07/2025 18:36

He sat on the cushion in front of the iPad then bit me when I tried to get him to move.

Then he told me I was a good bird. Also a (small) parrot.

hiredandsqueak · 25/07/2025 18:43

Woke me at 4am howling, took her out and went back to bed. Just dropped off and she woke me again at 6am. Latest I've been in bed all week has been 5am, the joys of a geriatric dog.

My cat decided to approach my desk with a freshly killed pigeon in his mouth when I was presenting in a Teams meeting. I had to watch him roll it around on the rug whilst chowing down on it's insides. 2 hours later I spent my 30 mins lunch on my hands and knees cleaning up.

Toasty Boy Cat has decided that as a black cat the best place to sleep is in direct sunlight in our west facing garden.

Mine does that! He’s gone from being jet black to now black and auburn because he sunbathes so much Smile

PersianKittens · 25/07/2025 18:59

My cat is a born arsehole.

NewsdeskJC · 25/07/2025 19:34

Proper arsehole.
Usually good as gold with other dogs and horses.
Except today when he took exception to a horse drawn funeral cortege.

My arsehole cat waits every night till I am in the shower to do a poo, which means I come out of the shower, nice and clean, and have to deal with the stinky litter tray. Then I have to put some clothes on to take it to the bin. It doesn’t matter what time I have a shower. I tried to have it very early or very late at night. She will always do it when I am in the shower. If I decide to postpone the shower till the morning, she postpones her poop till the middle of the night.
I have no idea why she does it. Her litter tray is downstairs in the conservatory so she has privacy even if I am downstairs as the living room is on the other side of the house.
It is only my shower that has this effect on her, nothing happens when other household members shower.
Last night I actually had a rant at her about her toilet habits but I doubt she will take any notice.

My cats’ litter trays are in the bathroom. You can bet as SOON as my own arse cheeks touch the bottom of the bath, one of the cats will wander in for a dump.

My two indoor cats (who have a huge catio and supervised garden access) have learnt that opening the washing machine means I will be opening the back door and they can weave between my legs and dash outside for some unscheduled garden time. This means I now have to put the washing out while simultaneously watching the tabby doesn’t try and perfect his escape artist routine and leave the garden.
Not helped by the fact DH removed a section of the garden gate to make it easier for hedgehogs to get in/out and took so much off its now an ideal route into the front garden for said tabby.

Fat cat got scared back inside by a tiny seagull that he swears was the size of an eagle, this is a 6.5kg cat btw.

On returning inside tabby cat threw up the grass he’d scoffed down while in the garden. Luckily I heard the noise and swiftly deposited him off the carpet and onto the tiled floor. After he deposited the grass he’d went back for a second attempt at using the carpet, which I once again thwarted.

Fat cat proceeds to weave around my legs trying to trip me up, until I follow him into the bedroom and lay on top of him while rubbing his face. Weirdo likes to be squished at the same time he has face rubs, but will only accept cuddles if he is on my bed or if he has decided to sit on me. Any attempt to fuss him anywhere else and he runs away from me.

Despite how warm and muggy it is today the tabby has decided he has to sit on me, and is now stretched out along my legs. The usual routine is that he will head outside to the catio in a bit and then just as I’m about to go to bed arrive yowling and launch himself on me, demanding I remain on the sofa and submit to being his bed for the night.

At least when they want food early in the morning they go for the DH. Fat cat has learnt to dive bomb from the tall bedside cabinet right onto DH bladder area, while tabby likes to get his nose in DH mouth or ear as his wake up call. And if DH dares to try and go to the loo without the tabby going in too he will yowl and scratch the door, he just has to wee at the same time as DH, I swear he holds it in especially.

Love them to bits!

Wbeezer · 25/07/2025 20:41

My arsehole but beloved cat just cost me a £2.5k bill at the vet hospital due to eating an ornamental grass in the garden! Hoping she’s home tomorrow annoying me in more trivial ways!

Cat colour is an odd thing - I’ve never had a tabby that didn’t like weeing on things - current one favours the bath mat and any random plastic bag, previous one liked anything that came through the letter box - so newspapers and mail! It was a race to the front door every time anything came in!

Every Tortie I’ve had has been spirited!

Black cats have a love you/hate you thing - usually in the middle of a petting session

I have a soft spot for black and white cats but sadly don’t have one anymore

Cherrysoup · 26/07/2025 13:38

Started hysterically barking in the undergrowth in a deliberate attempt to wind up his brother to join him in a pointless chase of nothing. His brother didn’t respond so he gave up, got told off and came back to heel. Arse.

Grumplechops · 26/07/2025 13:44

DCat meowed at me and when I went to stroke him he contorted himself so my hand wouldn’t touch him and then walked off in digust at my action. This has been going on ever since I took him to the vet a month ago and he’s still holding a grudge. He will sit on DH’s lap and get love but ignores me despite me sitting next to DH. 😭
