Dd got spiked

Partytimeisover · 12/07/2025 09:57

Dd went to a club last night for her birthday. There were 8 of them. She had arranged to hire a booth for them. Where the price includes cocktails and few other drinks. They were all sharing drinks between the 8 of them.

No one got ill like dd did. It was stuff like paranoia seeing stuff breathless rashes. She didn't know who anyone was she thought she was being attacked etc. The hospital said since everyone else is fine it was probably a brush by? Apprently someone injected her as they brush passed you.

Couple things im wondering. Why does that happen. What's the person spiking her get from it? Surely they are loosing out on money.

Also its odd that it was the birthday person who was injected why her out of 8. Is there something in that or is it just a coincidence?

Dd is ol she's been in the hospital since silly o'clock. Where they done blood test. Keep eye on her . They are giving fluids to flush it out of her system she will be able to leave soon.

Oh gosh I thought she was younger but it's still awful and you can help to kick up a stink.

ParmaViolletts · 12/07/2025 20:31

@ninjahamster again was ir reported to police did you make a fuss.

Even now a year later write to mp and kick up a stink venues need to take more responsibility

Ive been spiked about 20 years ago abroad and I was so vulnerable and alone. I was saved by someone but it sas a lucky escape.

No we didn’t report it to the police as the hospital said they didn’t check for substances so would have had no proof to give to the police.

ParmaViolletts · 12/07/2025 20:37

This is the problem, the dj said hsve to report, she's been seriously unwell with s and unusual profile etc and if anyone is with anyone who' acts really madly out of it 999 immediate, ambulance and police

burneraccount15 · 12/07/2025 20:38

I'd report the complete lack of interest re their license. Even if DD had just been messy drunk they still have a duty of care and responsibility if she left their club like that.

ParmaViolletts · 12/07/2025 20:38

After such trauma many people don't want tests but that doesn't mean you can let police know
It's imperative they get told and obviously the quicker the better

JDM625 · 12/07/2025 20:40

How old is DD? Where did you get this info from OP? Her friends or were you in A&E to hear it 1st hand from the medics?

When I worked in A&E, drug testing was done via urine in nearly every case. Several drugs can be detected hours and days later. Blaming the ambulance for arriving 90mins late and meaning testing couldn't be done is a very dubious excuse.

I'm sorry if your DD was really spiked by a random person. Having worked in A&E and medical areas for 20+yrs, I'd also consider that:
-Some of the group might have taken drugs and your DD had a paranoia reaction to those- even though herself and friends will vehemently deny this!
-Her friends spiked her drink as a birthday surprise and she had a weird reaction- then didn't want to own up to it
-She had too much to drink and freaked out!

Yes, there might have been a random spiking incident which is awful. I've seen all manner of incidents and not ALL are random spiking events. I hope you DD is ok and on the mend.

Fragmentedbrain · 12/07/2025 20:41

Yes my friend was also treated with contempt in a and e. This was in a way more traumatic than the spiking itself.

ParmaViolletts · 12/07/2025 20:43

Unfortunately and this is no excuse but we can imagine how many genuinely self caused problems sickness, alcohol poisoning present on the weekend, fights stx

But this is why we need to make sure that the profile of this awful crime is raised and police act, venues take responsibility better training, ambulance crews are alert for it etx6

ParmaViolletts · 12/07/2025 20:44

Sorry to mention again but let your or her mp know.

EmeraldRoulette · 12/07/2025 20:48

@Partytimeisover I accept that spiking is likely

Sorry to say, is it possible that one of the people in the group did it? I think the puncture method is less likely.

However, I would also consider allergic reaction especially if any of the cocktails had any of those special effects on them- you know like clouds of dry ice and stuff

That's just worth noting in case she needs to avoid that type of drinking in the future.

But I would be wanting to take a very hard look at who was in the group.

No it wasn't her friends. They are not them type of people and not an allergic reaction

The possibility is that she took something then lied to cover it up.

She had a blood test. But her friend said the hospital said. because the ambulance took so long to get there about 90 mins it meant the drug had lecture het system. But the symptoms were still there.

It takes around 2 hours for GHB to leave the body, so I’m not sure this is accurate. Sounds more like an allergic reaction?

They are not. It could just be that she was spiked it happens rather than it could have been drink that didn't agree with her . She could have drank to much. I could have been het friend. No maybe it actually happend.

This is also a possibility. Actual needle spiking are very rare

We don't know it was GHB . I also said the ambulance took aroubd 90 mins i cant be 100% on that timing ad it's what I was told. I dont know when she was spiked or how long it takes to have an effect.

No dd is never ever like that with drink. She seemed to be hallucinating. And she thought she was getting attacked and didn't know who anyone was .

Yet friend showed me what looked like a puncher wound but dd has blemishes on her skin anyway.

I was originally told drinks were not left unattended but then someone else said they were left briefly i think that's more likely than getting injected

How much fluid had she drank during the day?

its very hot, lack of water and then add just a bit of alcohol is a recipe for disaster- not uncommon to have hallucinations from dehydration when your electrolytes are out of kilter

my daughter had alcohol after no liquid and became seriously unwell, it was dehydration - she said some really bizarre things. I’d seen my grandma dehydrate in hospital and it was similar

MikeRafone · 12/07/2025 21:24

They should have a report of her blood test result and it will show remains of drugs for a lot longer than 90 minutes.

Fragmentedbrain · 12/07/2025 21:30

Jesus Christ when a person says they have been poisoned it is insane to say oh are you sure you didn't just overheat love.

Dehydration is hardly just overheating

It's also not the same as being spiked. Why do you find it impossible to trust a person's own account of what happened to them? Being drugged is a very specific, very awful experience.

SmegFridge · 12/07/2025 21:36

That's awful. I've been unlucky enough to have been spiked twice during my uni days and it was horrendous. I never went to A&E nor did I report it because I knew everyone would just think I'd overdone it with the booze. I ended up with a concussion the second time and went to the GP a few days later as my brain wasn't working properly, and he made me feel like I did it to myself because I went out and drank alcohol. I still get annoyed when I think about this almost 20 years later.

In my cases both seemed to be just random acts of shithousery. First time I had one bottle of Beck's and I was out of it, falling over and my friends had to carry me home. I didn't speak to anyone and it was just random. The second one I suspected the barman because of the way he had been with me, but also I do remember being chatted up by a group of somewhat eccentric businessmen and there were some clues that it could have been them. Anyway, luckily I was "fine" both times (although the whole thing is deeply unpleasant and frightening), but it's the randomness that puzzled me. It's almost as if they just do it for fun.

Hope your DD is OK.
