What do you think of people with colourful hair? As in different colour hair - pinks, greens, blues, purples, - big bright colourful hair

I always had my hair in a natural brown until last year and I started getting it bleached and highlighted to get some fun bright colours in my hair. I don't want to be known so I won't give my hair colours away but I did a new colour recently and I love it.

I get two reactions.

  1. where people love it
  2. they hate it but mabe they won't say it but their tone and attitude - I sense something.

For me I think there is too much madness in the world and I am not hurting anyone and I need more bright and cheerful in my life.

Some people probably think I am a clown or something. I don't know. I really love colourful hair.

I'm 40, I've had pink hair for the last 5ish years (it's also been purple, blue and green) and it's shaved on the sides - oh the horror 😱
I'm not a lesbian
I don't believe in Trans
I'm not even a little bit politically inclined...

Shit, do I have to dye my hair back to brown?!?!

@StonePaperScissors I do get loads of compliments on my hair tbf - but they could be lying I suppose 😂

Bet it looks ace 🩷

Here's mine (with bonus cat)

It suits me more than my natural colour, which is mixed mousy brown and grey (not even an interesting grey yet). The colours that suit me most are greys and dark/ muted blues, so it makes sense to go dark blue.

Plus, as your hair starts to go grey it starts to get scruffy and misbehave, and colour thickens it and makes it more glossy and manageable.

(Also ND and proud 💙)

I actually have not had my natural hair colour in 15 years now, it's always black or fully neon, but last year I started to add the pink with the black and I love it haha

Us mature ladies have done the whole trimmed natural hair colour
,then experimented in our teens.
Decades later we are past fitting in or getting a middle aged cut.Looking like a mum, daughter, wife should.
With all these colours widely available we can express ourselves.Just a bit of fun .Plenty of worse things to be worried about.
I saw an old lady with pale pink curly hair.Subtle like candy floss and I thought good for her.
Still having fun in her 80s.

Thank you so much! Ive always been into alt style but now I'm an adult with my own money it's been so fun customising myself ! 😂

How strange are some of these assumptions.
My niece has tattoos and bright pink hair and she is the kindest person I know.

I wish that I had had access to colourful hanks of hair when I was a youngster!
At 65 and totally white (and too reactive to use any permanent hair dye) I have discovered semi permanent peach. It's very subtle but I love it.

I think that poet Jenny Joseph's old lady in "The Warning" would have dyed her hair purple and revelled in it...

"When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves..."

Exactly, we only live once so we can paint our blank canvas how we like! On the back of this thread I’m gonna add some pinks and purples to my blonde, and hopefully repel any smallminded people. 🤣

Do it!! I always think people can get filler and work done and I'd not personally do that but i love that it makes people feel confident. That's how my hair/piercings and tattoos make me feel!

As far as bodifications go I prefer hair colours than tattoos.
Easier to change or revert back to our natural hair colour.
Interesting views on here.I prefer to know the person underneath the hair tbh.
