If you love a nap how old are you?

I'm 57 and I'd say I've been loving a nap for at least 5 years. Used to also have them when younger if I'd had a busy day.

Just curious to see if anyone else loves naps and how old you are? I wondered if it's an age thing but I didn't think I was old yet 🙈

I’m 43 and have always napped. I grew up in an extremely hot county and school ran from 7am-1pm. After lunch we all had a nap. I’ve kept it going all my life. I naturally wake early and by the weekend like a little snooze after lunch.

44 always loved a nap. From being a lazy teen, to disco naps before partying in my twenties to sleeping when the baby sleeps in my thirties. Rarely have time now though so when I do get a nap it’s a real treat.

59, but I’ve loved a nap all my life, really enjoyed holidays in countries that had a siestas

I'd never really thought about it before, but I've been napping in the afternoon on and off since my uni days. I don't always get a chance, but I try to have at least 15 mins a day.

I've just thought back to when I was younger and used to lie down on my office floor for a quick power nap, and before that even, I used to boost that I could sleep sitting up at my desk so that I looked like I was working!

I love a good old snooze, and I can sleep all night!

Seems to be a 40’s thing. Or maybe that’s just the demographic of MN.

I used to….then I got tinnitus. Impossible now :(

I've always loved a nap. DH ADHD has always thought it lazy until the last year or so he's 74. Now thank god he dozes off after lunch. I'm on nerve blockers and co codamol for pain these days, I sleep like a log after lunch.

Costacoffeeplease · 04/07/2025 00:17

I’ve slept for an hour or two every day for around 30 years due to ME/CFS

MoonWoman69 · 04/07/2025 00:26

I'm 56 and have napped for at least the last 10 years or so. I have to go to bed though and I set my phone alarm for a couple of hours time, but I tend to wake before it goes off! I have no problem sleeping at night either! I actually think I'm a reincarnated cat!!! 🤣

I’m so glad I found this thread , I always feel guilty and lazy when I have a nap ?
It’s one of my favourite things …

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 04/07/2025 01:05

I am so envious of the nappers! I can’t, and if i ever do (eg ill) feel absolutely hideous when I wake up, like I’m drunk. My now retired colleague used to have a nap from 5.30 - 6.30 every single day, he didn’t even need an alarm to get up for dinner, it was just part of his daily routine.

mamareg · 04/07/2025 11:27

I didn't realise I'd got any replies 😁

So glad there's lots of us nappers.

I have to nap in bed. Obviously can't when on a long day shift. Or even a late shift. But when I'm off work I have an hour.
