Could I get married in this or is it too yellow?

Has anyone got it IRL?
It looks sort of cream on photos?

It just a registry office wedding.

But i would want a yellow, yellow dress.

I'm going for the ghost one,

Gold shoes sound lovely!

I don’t like either dress on you, sorry - I just think you can do better.

The ghost dress simply looks like a long bog standard shirt dress. The sleeves are an awkward length & the length of the dress is too long on you. But the main thing is, it doesn’t really match your aesthetic. You have bright hair and tattoos - I think you can find a dress that matches your personal style more? It is quite bland, you could probably get away with wearing that to a restaurant or on holiday or something, like it’s not special.

The silver dress was okay but I don’t think that’s the one either.

I’d keep looking and just use the ghost dress as a backup.

It’s a beautiful dress so of course
it’s very difficult to tell online the exact colour. Even in shops I will ask if I can take something just out the door to see

Unfortunately I hate my tattoos, all done over a decade ago, my 'aesthetic ' is very traditional, this is very much my style in clothes now and I love the ghost dress and feel beautiful in it. I want a very classic, simple look.

OP has already said she likes the ghost one and is wearing it, why on earth would you come on here and dump on it?

Also on no planet does it look like a "bog standard shirt dress".

DiaryofWimpy · 16/07/2025 09:57

Ghost dress is gorgeous on you. Tattoos or not

Also I'm not doing a big wedding. There are no guests (apart from adult children as witnesses) no reception, no party, no cars picking us up etc.

I am literally getting the tram into town, getting married then going home!

I don't want to be super dressed up and over the top bridal. I just wanted something simple that would look nice in a couple of photos taken by my kids.

Of course i 'could do better' than a high street dress but not everyone wants to!

Ghost one finally arrived from vinted.

Bearing in mind its very creased and I haven't got a slip or control wear on

I don't know which!

The ghost dress is lovely. Hopefully with a more upliftting bra, not trying to be rude.

runningonberocca · 16/07/2025 13:18

The Ghost dress is gorgeous on you. Looks really elegant. ( and in no way does it look like a “ bog standard shirt dress” as per very rude previous poster). It’s understated but beautiful.

The Ghost dress is gorgeous on you exactly as it is, you don't need a different dress, you look great.

Ignore OP. Your bra is fine.

Tealpins · 16/07/2025 17:43

Ah, that Ghost dress is gorgeous on you. Agree with pp, nothing wrong with the bra you are wearing!

I'm 40 and repeatedly breastfed. My tits are exactly where they should be 😬🤣

Up to you, but you don't look as good as you could in the photo, I noticed it, so will other people.

I would never normally say something like that, but as you were asking for honest opinions I thought you might just not have realised it would look far better with a supportive bra, and you mentioned control wear in a previous post, so thought it was not off the table to discuss.

Women get their hair and make up done, wear control wear, wear high heels and do all sorts of things that hide or change their features and characteristics to look good, a supportive bra is just another one of those things.

Entirely your choice, and as I say I would not say anything normally, but I'd think it.

MsMiniver · 16/07/2025 23:36

It looks wonderful on you! The ghost dress.
I wore it for my wedding and got loads of compliments and asked if it was vintage. but my shoes weren’t as nice as yours.
I had pink flowers and little DD in a light minty green bridesmaid dress.
congratulations again!

PopeJoan2 · 17/07/2025 01:16

It looks really lovely.

Bowies · 17/07/2025 06:41

I don’t know how I missed the updates but the Ghost dress looks beautiful on you and the shoes (and dress!) were a bargain - how are the shoes? I imagine the whole ensemble will be beautiful.

Have a wonderful ceremony!

GoldDuster · 17/07/2025 07:40

@orwellwasright2025 *some women

brunettemic · 17/07/2025 09:17

Wear what you want…you can get married in a bin bag if that’s what you want to get married in.

Elfonte · 17/07/2025 10:41

@orwellwasright2025 I'm not offended at all! I just don't care enough, anyone who might think that will be strangers as it just my husband and kids that will be there and I didnt think anything of it myself and would be happy with their position in photos. A push up bra isnt my style so Idon't want to waste money in something i wont wear again. Theyre always so uncomfortable 😫

I hadn’t seen the updates.

The Ghost dress looks fantastic. You made the right choice. I love your hair.

Blue flowers come to mind. Cornflowers would be lovely…

I definitely think blue flowers it it has a buttery cream tinge. I would personally stay away from pinks (which can clash; you need a cool colour with butter).

Blue looks wonderful with both cream and yellow, and you have your "something blue!" Forget me nots are nice in a bridal bouquet, but might be a bit late in the season now ... But I think diminutive flowers would suit that more low-key style of dress - which, by the way, I love!

White will show up the depth of the colour so I'd mix cream miniature roses etc. Mixing in a few yellow flowers might make the dress look less yellow by comparison - though yellow it isn't a traditional flower colour for weddings as I think the meaning is jealousy!

I'd go for a summery, cottagey blue and cream bouquet of smallish flowers. i agree cornflowers are a lovely summer vibe.

Oops, reading sequentially and chimed in early! I think you are going for a very NOT yellow now, similar style? It looked lovely. Perfect.

Still quite like the idea of small blue and cream bouquet though ...

I do too, I think i will get a dried bunch, like this lavender and gypsy?

Could I get married in this or is it too yellow?
