What do you think about him?

OP posts:
AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 12/06/2025 14:27

I loved The Feeling (SEB's husband's band) back in the day and they produced some absolute bangers. On the other hand I heard he never uses a coster and so always ends up leaving marks on their coffee table.

Swings and roundabouts really then OP.

Sophie, if you've fallen out with your husband you need to sort it out with him, not ask everyone here to take part in a pile on. It's your relationship, nothing to do with us.

😂😂

My husband. What do you think of him?

Phwoar!

HelloDenise · 12/06/2025 09:57

What do you think about him?

I know nothing about the fellow, and am happy for it to stay that way

What does she know about your husband, OP? 🤔

KnickerlessParsons · 12/06/2025 15:18

His eyes are too close together for my liking.

Plasticwaste · 12/06/2025 15:19

What I want to know is why SEB is everywhere these days after 20 years of nothing? Did she upgrade her agent??

Fetchthevet · 12/06/2025 15:34

I'm not being unkind, because she's obviously beautiful, but I often think SEB's eyes are too far apart. So their kids must have the perfect eyes to nose ratio situation.

Fetchthevet · 12/06/2025 15:35

I heard he's the one who taught her that kick-your-leg up high dance move.

Bollynicks · 12/06/2025 15:37

Did he commit murder on the dance floor?

uncomfortablydumb60 · 12/06/2025 15:45

More to the point perhaps, what do you think of his wife?
She's very close to her Mum, Janet Ellis, so whatever he needed counselling for, at least Sophie has support

Spidey66 · 12/06/2025 15:56

I have no idea who she’s married to . All I know about her family is her mum was the producer or director or something for Blue Peter.

Navigatinglife100 · 12/06/2025 15:57

Have we worked out what the point of this thread was yet? It's living rent free in my head atm, I need to move on.

NoMoreStupidGuys · 12/06/2025 15:57

Chungai · 12/06/2025 12:29

Yeah. I can totally imagine feeling insecure in his shoes. "My stunning wife is doing this incredible thing and I'm so pleased for her but she's had this incredible new lease of life - I'm worried it will wake her up to better and new things than me, a bassist for some irrelevant band, stuck at home with the kids and not feeling like I have much to offer".

I think it's unfair to call him controlling for feeling that way. Especially if he had counselling to deal with it.

Controlling would be refusing to let her take part. Given she wrote about it, I doubt it was too traumatising for her.

Caveat - I've not read the book!

Ellis-Bextor wrote about how the BBC One competition was so disruptive to her marriage with The Feeling bassist Richard Jones that the pair sought counselling. She described how he “became unusually insistent on knowing where I was all the time.

“If I didn’t reply to a text, he’d spiral… He just felt as if I might slip into a new life that left our family behind,” she wrote, also questioning why the show “fetishises the ‘couples’ aspect so much”. In the book she called her partner Cole a “perfect gentleman”.

Saw him yesterday in Co-op stealing kitten food. Make of that what ye will.

Stealing food FOR a kitten or FROM a kitten? That makes a big difference as to what I think of him see…

RubieChewsDay · 12/06/2025 16:03

Proper lolling at some of these responses.

On a serious note, the number of people being disparaging about a man going for counselling is fucking depressing. The leading cause of death of men around his age is suicide, so whatever the reason, the fact he got the help he needed and is open about it, is a good thing.

Spidey66 · 12/06/2025 16:07

Sorry I got her mum wrong, I thought her mum was Biddy Baxter but it’s Janet Ellis, ex Blue Peter presenter.

They did it together in a supportive way, looking at the quote I shared a few posts up.

FluffykinsTheFerociousFeralFelineFury · 12/06/2025 14:51

Phwoar!

I thought that, but his performance was a bit meh…he did lock the door on his way out though so extra point for effort. 5/10

thatsawhopperthatlemon · 12/06/2025 16:14

Helloooooo....??? OP?

Coo-ee! Where are you?

Well that's funny. I wonder where the OP's gone.

JHound · 12/06/2025 16:40

No idea who he is.

LavenderBlue19 · 12/06/2025 16:43

Can OP please tell us what they want us to think about SEB's husband?

I keep coming back to this thread to see if they've given a reason for its existence and it's getting annoying 😂

Scorchio84 · 12/06/2025 16:44

lifeonmars100 · 12/06/2025 13:06

Sophie needs to LTB now!

Seriously though, I know she has a husband, 5 sons and fabulous legs a I loved her on Strictly and the kitchen discos were a shining light in lockdown. Oh and wasn't her mum a presenter on Blue Peter. That is the sum total of my knowledge about Sophie

& apparently Mark Lamarr pissed her off on Never Mind The Buzzcocks years ago

Scorchio84 · 12/06/2025 16:45

JHound · 12/06/2025 16:40

No idea who he is.

He's Sophie Ellis Bextors Husband!!!! 😆

Also need to know why this thread was started

BillStickersIsInnocent · 12/06/2025 16:47

Actually I remember talking about this at work with a colleague when she was in Strictly. SEB’s husband was there for every performance, and he genuinely looked pained and very intense every time she danced. I did wonder at the time what their relationship was like.

butterpuffed · 12/06/2025 12:20

Has MN said why it's been removed ? I miss it too .

Not that I've seen? I hope there's a reason so I can justify my outrage! 😆
