Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just finishing my first cuppa of the day, in silence! I have heard alarms from upstairs though so no doubt someone will be down shortly to break that peace 🙄.

We have nothing in particular planned for today. Bacon sarnys for brunch ish, tidy round and hoover will feature somewhere. As will cleaning the bathroom and washing the towels.

Dd1 worked yesterday & has two exams on Tuesday so probably a day of revision for her after a relaxed morning of nothing much. Dd2 also wants to carry on with revision for her upcoming mock GCSE exams.

I'll spend the day between pottering and crafting. I'll varnish this week's peg people and start something new but not sure what yet - probably more people tbh; I have an impressive list of requests from work for September.

This evening it's a roast chicken dinner for tea, followed by early ish showers. I'll have my usual Self-Care-Sunday scrubby everything shower, then paint my toe nails, stick some false nails, maybe tan if I cba (probably not!) and settle down with my book for an hour before heading to bed earlier than the girls ready for the week 💤💤.

What about all of you? 🙂

@Simonjt you've just given us all an extra weekend day 🥳 thanks!

It does explain why the family event was nowhere to be found at the park…we both switched our days at work, so I’m blaming that rather than general incompetence.

My husband and his gran are now on episode three of downton, so they’re going for death by boredom.

@OneLilacEagle 'Simple Things' is my little treat to myself. I love it when it drops through the letterbox. My favourite thing is to sit in the garden with a cuppa and the dogs and just read for an hour. Sometimes (Scottish weather) means I'm a month or two behind!

@lucysmam I recommend the magazine too. And the lego brick show turned out to be 90% selling stalls- very rare and retired sets mainly- so DW was happy and got an old Star Wars set she wanted. The other 10% were amazing built sets. A fun day out, anyway.

I had an early start as never seem to lay in anymore, I cracked on with ironing. I’ve not long got back from holiday so it was needed! I’ve taken the dog to the country park with dc which was nice and eaten ridiculously sickly cake. Meatballs for tea dc choice.

I woke up suddenly from my afternoon nap and now have palpitations, probably atrial flutter as it's not showing up as atrial fibrillation on my kardia monitor, so I'm not feeling great ☹️. What it does mean, however, is that I don't need to think about cooking this evening.... Mr Dilemma has ordered us a curry.

This is quite a frequent thing for me and as it's not life threatening I have been told not to go to ED - they can't help me with medication at the moment as nearly everything is contraindicated with the cancer meds I'm taking at the moment (only 2 months to go!!!!) so I just have to ride it out. Normally they would just give me a dose of digoxin or something but I can't take that at the moment. I'm on the list for cardiac ablation so hopefully that will happen some time before Christmas!
