French door fridge? Any good? Hisense?

I really like the look of the pull out drawers on this fridge but I'm not sure. Does anyone have any experience with them?

RF749N4SWSE Pureflat 90cm French Door

I also like this one which has the freezer under with 2 separate doors to open. I don't want a side by side fridge/ freezer I want a wide fridge.

RS818N4IIE Pureflat Infinite series

This are both Hisense as well which is not a brand I am familiar with.

You have to open both doors to get to the drawers. And if you close them in the wrong order they don’t always seal properly so the fridge isn’t properly closed.

Open both doors to get to the drawers, yes
But ours doesn’t have a particular order it needs to be sealed in

Our freezer drawer is subdivided inside into one big deep drawer and two smaller drawers. The deep drawer is brilliant for freezing things like 2 pint milk cartons and sliced bread (upright so you just grab a slice off the top). I have a couple of small plastic baskets that I use in the big drawer so that small stuff doesn’t get lost.

I've got a hisense one OP.i hummed and hawed over it for ages, as it was expensive, and.. it's only me at home! in the i found a slightly scratched one at a huge reduction. I use relatively little of the fridge space, I really wanted it for the freezer drawers, which I love. I do a lot of cooking and often portion up for freezing. I find it much easier to organise the wide drawers than I did with traditional shelves. I wasn't bothered about a water dispenser, in fact, actively didn't want one but they seem to come as standard (non plumbed in). obv i just don't use it.

HerdingWiredCats · 07/06/2025 15:18

I’ve got a HiSense, would recommend. I love the French door style, mines a cheaper narrower one without the freezer drawers, just normal doors.

@HiRenI can’t say I’ve ever needed two hands to open the doors? 😂

I have the first one with drawers and love it. I do miss the plumbed in water though as no one bothers to fill the water tank on this new one

Allthepictureframes · 07/06/2025 15:37

I have an FP one very similar. The fridge itself is brilliant but the finish drives me mad - when the sun shines on it, it looks dirty and streaky, no matter how much I wipe or buff it. Integrated will be my choice moving forward.

shedroof · 07/06/2025 16:24

I have this one op and I love it! The one big draw is actually 2 drawers, ice machine makes ice into a bucket in the top freezer drawer. The water filter is so slim it’s doesn’t impact space on the inside of the door. I can’t imagine having any other style of fridge freezer now. Definitely get one OP!
I found this at John Lewis & Partners. What do you think?

I have that exact fridge freezer. It's still one of my favourite purchases ever. Go for it. I love it.

It looks great! Mine will be covered in fridge magnets too imagine.

Does it get grubby easily? I got my toddler to put his hands on it in Currys and I couldn't see the hand prints.

Well when I took that picture I don't think I'd cleaned the front in about 6 days ? You can see finger prints on it up close but its not really obvious and I only wipe down when I see them or once a week. And I have a grubby toddler too 😅

I know other pp are saying the deep drawers are a pain, but we don't think so. We use one side for unopened stuff and the other for opened. And the space is unbelievable. In our old house we had a standard fridge freezer and a spare freezer in the shed. I managed to get everything from both freezers into this one! We love it, although we can't use the water feature either because of small DC haha.

CountryMouse22 · 08/06/2025 17:20

We have a Haier fridge freezer with French doors. Suits us fine. We didn't plumb in it but it has the iced water option. We bought it during the lock-down and glad we did.

gotohellforheavenssake · 08/06/2025 17:48

Love big freezer drawers, had Haier fridge/freezer with them for 12 years now. It’s still going, but have now upgraded to one like first link, big drawers at bottom, french doors on top - but from Ikea. It’s been great, a bit cheaper too.

Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 09/06/2025 13:44

We've got the second one you posted OP without the drinks despenser. I absolutely love it, it makes me far happier than a fridge should!

We looked at the first one you posted with the drawer too, but the drawer was what I'd describe as waffy. It just didn't run smoothly and felt a bit cheap. I thought perhaps it hadn't been put together properly, so went to several shops to try and each one was the same.

It's very deep, sticking a good way out from the worktop. It also weighs a tonne (we have an upside down house so that was fun) but is on wheels so you can pull it out easily to clean behind. Those are no doubt things you considered, I just got a bit too excited about it and poor DH and DS nearly gave themselves hernias getting it upstairs!

It does mark quite easily with finger prints, but not enough for me to fall out of love with it, quick wipe with a damp cloth and it's all good. Highly recommend.

We’ve got an LG French door fridge freezer and I love it. One of the features I didn’t expect to care about is brilliant -the door in door feature. Basically one of the fridge doors has a separate door inside it which means you can quickly grab stuff without opening the whole fridge. We keep drinks in the bottom part and cheeses/butter cream in the other bits and it’s so handy.

love the whole design actually

Mix56 · 09/06/2025 16:25

I"ve got the one like you describe, but not the same make. I love the configuration. 1 big drawer at the bottom, that has an internal sliding shelf.
mine has ice & water dispenser so is plumbed in... I inherited it in a house I bought, so it is probably 10 years old or more.

Keepsmiling2948 · 09/06/2025 16:28

I’d never go back to a regular fridge freezer set up now. I have the Samsung. It’s amazing! All packed lunch/deli/yogurts and snack bits for the kids in the pull out fridge drawer. It’s so good!

Pashazade · 09/06/2025 17:15

I have a Fisher & Paykel one absolutely love it. The freezer drawers are great, it can get a bit Tetris like sometimes but you really can fit a lot in.

Too expensive for us!

Pashazade · 09/06/2025 21:31

@CountryMouse22 it’s the most expensive thing in our kitchen! I was desperate for a decent fridge freezer having done the previous 10 years with under counter ones.

LibertyLily · 09/06/2025 21:47

We have the 90cm Haier one in black with the French doors at the top/two drawers at the bottom and absolutely love it!

Previously we had a Smeg fridge freezer for many years and it was definitely style over substance. The Haier is so very much better.

I was looking at the FP ones, but as I blew the kitchen appliance budget on a Lacanche range, we couldn't stretch to one of those. However, we're not remotely disappointed with the Haier and both think the drawers are amazing. No issues with opening the doors (or drawers for that matter), although it does have to be wiped frequently as it shows every finger print.

Skippingaround · 09/06/2025 21:48

We have the 2nd link you've posted for a few years and really happy with it ! I love the 2 freezer doors and the fridge is really wide. Great having automatic ice on hand

Haier HCR3818ENMG_SI American Fridge Freezer in Silver
This us ours. Looks good, plenty of space and does the job well.
From AO last year and I love it. Didn't want a water dispenser/ice machine because they need plumbing in and often go wrong.

I returned my Haier because the water dispenser (from a water container, not plumbed in, so very very simple mechanism) kept dripping water all down the freezer door below.
The Haier engineer told me that was to be expected and it wasn't a fault.
Never buying that make again (or one with a water dispenser!)

I’m an American living in the US. I don’t
know why these are referred to as American refrigerators. Weird, as they are not made in America. But we have a French door one with the middle drawer which we use to keep drinks cold. It means we don’t have to open the whole refrigerator (and cause the temperature to rise) just to get a cold drink. We live in Florida so we need to keep our drinks cold! We also keep the drawer a few degrees colder than the main refrigerator.

We have a water dispenser also. Wouldn’t be without it.

LOL guess it's just one of those things. It doesn't refer to the place they're made, but the style. Everyone seems to be a big fan of the drawer.

I've decided on the Hisense one with the French Drawer, not sure if fridges look that in France either.

I have a HiSense double door like the second linked in the OP but without the outside dispenser. I didn’t like the idea of chutes and piping with the risk of water stagnation.

Im happy with it (clear temperature indicator, ability to set holidays and change zones) but I would have liked higher storage in the door (there’s only one full height for 2L bottles) so I end up staggering the bottles and cartons.
Only 2 drawers in the freezer means bags of frozen food slip and slide on the shelves. Problem solved with plastic baskets. And the freezer light isn’t particularly bright, two would have been better.

My main niggle is that I should have bought a taller one. It’s less than 1.8 meters and I’m lucky enough to have high ceilings so it looks a bit stunted in the space. There are taller models on sale but both those linked in the OP are the same height as mine. (Yes, I did see it in the shop but I was desperate and swayed by the special offer price!)

You might have to click on the full photo to see how “low” it is compared to the cabinets. This was the day it arrived, with the protective film still on.

French door fridge? Any good? Hisense?
Willowback · 10/06/2025 12:01

We have the hisense 2 door with the drawers and water dispenser, got it last year when we moved house. We had an integrated one in previous house which was tiny the hisense is massive inside but doesn't really take up too much space. I absolutely love it. The tesco delivery girl always comments on it!!
We have a hisense washing machine and a tv in our family room I'm impressed with the quality and technology for a great price!
