I wondered if anyone would say teacher! I've taught some awful classes, but not to the point of being scared. And you lose the fear of 'performing' in front of a class very quickly. Lots of teachers hate speaking in front of a group of other teachers though!

Saniflo Repair Engineer

My first boyfriend was a plumber who fixed loads of these back in the 90s.

It was a grim undertaking….

shivbo2014 · 30/05/2025 18:01

Pilot and Brain Surgeon

Iceache · 30/05/2025 19:26

I’m a teacher and the kids are great company; you soon lose the stage fright. We have a laugh every day!

For me it would be anything in a tight space: submarines or caves. I’m not even claustrophobic but I hate tiny caves!

Halfull · 30/05/2025 19:36

Anything medical. Absolutely go to pieces at the sight of an emergency, worse than useless - more messily in the way. I can do compassion but I can’t do veins! Or bones, and tendons also freak me out a bit! I am in awe of anyone that can handle that stuff, I’m going to have a restorative drink now because even thinking about it has made me weirdly agitated.

HGV driver, especially those ones with 2 storeys of cars. How do they reverse? It gives me the absolute willies just looking at them. Also a double decker bus driver. I just couldn’t do it.

ThatshallotBaby · 30/05/2025 21:24

I’d prefer to be a brain surgeon.

mjf981 · 30/05/2025 22:58

Anything diving/underwater. My ears can’t handle the change in pressure.

Psychiatrist. I wouldn’t have the patience needed for it.

Chef. Looks really stressful and loud. And the hours are crap.

Anon501178 · 30/05/2025 23:05

Anything in the emergency services.....absolute admiration for them all.Having to run into danger and see the awful things they do every day.
Unimaginable to me....could never do it for many reasons.

tillyandmilly · 30/05/2025 23:07

Surgeon - the thought of operating on someone and positive outcome for that person makes me feel faint!
