Where can I stay in London overnight with my daughter (hotel) which won’t cost the earth?

Hello MN,
My daughter is 12 & has been struggling with her health for the last year.
We are going to an event in London in a few weeks & I want to take her to stay in a hotel overnight afterwards for a treat.
Would love it to be a fancy one but I’m a single mum with a budget of around £150…
Wondering if anyone can recommend somewhere for us to stay - am I being a bit optimistic being London & all (doesn’t have to be central!) 🫶

If its daytime so you will be back well before the tube stops, then look at Canary Warf. Not a great idea if like me, you stay out too late.

The Copthorne Tara in Kensington might be worth a look. Depending on when but I have stayed there for about £160 a night.

We got a good deal at the Ibis Styles right by Gloucester Road tube recently. Really nice. Very close to the museums.

Also yes re Canary Wharf as it tends to be cheap at the weekend and lots of nice places to eat etc.

Watch the Z Hotels if a small room with no windows would bother you. I'm not a claustrophobic person, but I'm not keen on them as lots of the rooms are like that.
