Second '100 days' working out much like the first, but with a Vance-proof Pope, a bigly white elephant plane, a few more legal push backs and way more grifting.

Of tangential relevance to this thread, but 7% of Telegraph readers think that Ukraine should accept Russia's terms for a ceasefire. Are they all Russian bots?

Why on earth would Ukraine surrender ? They have just wiped out 1/3rd of Russias strategic bomber capability (which will take years to restore) with a handful of ex-bankrupt stock from "Daves Discount Drones" in an operation that took over a year to prepare and which was conducted under the noses of the CIA and US intelligence who we know have been ordered to report directly to Moscow.

In any other times this would be the story of the decade. For so many reasons. The actual damage is impressive. However the louder message is that the US is now fuck all use to Putin against Ukraine.

There may be a point at which Putin crashes and burns Trump. It's hard to imagine the fallout.

My mum reads the Telegraph. Her Alzheimer's means she is always confused when the war comes up on the news as she doesn't remember it.

Director of National Security Tulsi Gabbard wants to turn President Donald Trump’s daily intel briefings into Fox News-type broadcasts because he “doesn’t read.”
Gabbard is hoping to add animations and more dynamic multimedia elements to Trump’s President’s Daily Briefs, or PDBs, to fit his viewing habits and hold his attention, five people with knowledge of the discussions told NBC News.

Kerch Bridge attacked by Ukraine. Again, no intelligence from the US to warn Putin.

The Ukrainians are attacking Trump by proxy. And none of his circle appear to have realised.

They should give him a cut and stick activity and a bit of colouring in. Maybe some movement breaks.

Puppets. We definitely need puppets. I'd suggest using the Sesame Street crew, but we know Trump is not a fan of PBS 😜

Sesame Street has gone all capitalist, now, so he will enjoy it much more.

Harrison Ruffin Tyler, Grandson of the 10th President, has died.

John Tyler served in the White House from 1841 to 1845.

RIP

I remember being astounded when I read the 'chronology' from Pres Tyler to his grandson.

John Tyler born 1790 died 1862
Lyon Tyler born 1853 when John was 63 (3rd youngest son of 2nd marriage)
Harrison Tyler born 1928 when Lyon was 75 (2nd son of 2nd marriage)

Both Lyon & Harrison were from 2nd marriages to much younger women.

I'm wondering if that will come next. I and my coworkers took an oath to the Constitution. How long before they change that?

"I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States love, honour, cherish and defend Trump against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same: that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God."

I seem to remember something similar in his first term. Weren't they 'encouraged' to keep briefings short & simple with lots of pictures?

It was all bullet points. And preferably no more than six. I remember it distinctly. And this was his daily national security briefings.

On another note, I am absolutely revolted by all the Biden shit he is coming out with. I won't repeat it

Money well spent.

It's a seismic shift in the way wars are fought. The asymmetry is off the scale.

47.000 / 7,000,000,000

0.0000000067142857100

a price:earnings ratio unseen in history. Just on the prosaic level, you now need new software to handle it.

As the story of the operation is being told, a few things jump off the page. The total distrust of US (and presumably other) intelligence and military services. Which is not a recent phenomenon, but one which Ukraine has been working to for well over 18 months.

The second is this was obviously done without Starlink - presumably a comment on Musk that doesn't need translating.

Thirdly, with any HGV inside Russia, now a potential threat, the internal disruption to Russia is a hell of a drag on their military operations elsewhere.

Fourthly, the media handling of this has been well played. Almost understated. Which makes the implications more stark.

The best thing is no matter how Trump reacts he's been made a bigly fool in the eyes of the people that really matter to him. Putin, Xi, and all the other hard men of the globe. All of whom will be quietly asking their own intelligence services "Are you sure it's an act ?"

E2A: All of a sudden that Whitehouse meeting looks totally different, doesn't it.

More remarkable developments from Ukraine this morning, which just carried out a third strike on one of Vladimir Putin’s pet projects: the bridge connecting Russia to occupied Crimea. Meanwhile, Russian war bloggers have identified the man they believe to be the mastermind of the drone attacks on military targets across Russia this weekend: former Ukrainian DJ Artem Timofeev. Hey, it’s important for guys to have hobbies!

Is THIS ex-DJ 'secret agent' behind world's most daring military op?

VLADIMIR Putin’s goons have accused a Ukrainian ex-DJ of being the spy behind the incredible Operation Spiderweb. The SAS-style strike on Sunday against four airfields deep inside Russia has …

I do worry about how Putin (and possibly Trump if he ever cottons on) will retaliate against Ukraine. Can’t imagine they’ll let it go.

logicisall · 03/06/2025 19:38

The Guardian:

Peskov also dismissed the idea of a summit between the presidents of Russia, Ukraine and the US.
“In the near future, it is unlikely,” he told reporters, adding that such a summit could happen only after Russian and Ukrainian negotiators reached an agreement.
The White House said on Monday that Donald Trump was “open” to the idea of a summit, which is also backed by Zelenskyy and by Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

When will Trump learn to read the room re Russia?

TooBigForMyBoots · 03/06/2025 20:38

Surely he has to learn to read first.
