Second '100 days' working out much like the first, but with a Vance-proof Pope, a bigly white elephant plane, a few more legal push backs and way more grifting.

Did I read that Putin has offered Musk asylum ?

So has the EU...

Musk 'very welcome' in Europe after Trump bust-up, official says

Igotjelly · 06/06/2025 22:29

Eww no the Russians are welcome to him!

Better to have him in the tent pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in... as Lyndon B Johnson would say.

Maybe share - let the Russians have him, and the EU gets his companies as compensation!

J.D. Vance, we see you, you sycophantic, arse-licking, boot-licking, duplicitous, amoral, slimy, oily, toadying worm.
WE SEE YOU.

And those are his better qualities...

AcrossthePond55 · 06/06/2025 22:42

Russia and the UK are welcome to Musk. Hopefully they’ll make the same offer to Scrotus in due course.

(wishful thinking)

Ah, have a heart. Think of all those mouths he has to feed.

We don't want him!

A point the UK should bear in mind is that Drumpf, though he's mad as a box of frogs, is half-Scottish and has an affinity to the UK. Vance isn't and doesn't. There was a string of US presidents who were well enough disposed to the UK (Reagan, Bush snr, Clinton, Bush jnr) but the last two other than Drumpf (Obama, Biden) were most certainly indifferent.

logicisall · 07/06/2025 07:52

We HATE Trump and his bloody golf courses, here in Scotland. Maybe Qatar will have him, if Russia declines to do so.
Trump's mother was an illegal immigrant and given the anti-immigration MAGA stance, I decided to look into the 2nd Lady, who is of Indian descent, born in California.

ChatGPT says:
She met JD Vance while both were students at Yale Law School, and they married in 2014 in an interfaith ceremony that incorporated both Hindu and Christian traditions.
Professionally, Usha Vance is an accomplished attorney. She has clerked for prominent judges, including Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and has worked in civil litigation and appeals.
Her background and heritage have been highlighted as significant in her role as Second Lady.
That last bit was for the Asians, Latinos and Blacks vote, no doubt.

Always room for another billionaire in Putin world. A generous donation will ensure special status for a friend of Vladimir.

heldinadream · 07/06/2025 09:18

Can you imagine Musk trying to live in repressive Russia though?
He'd go even more nuts than he is.
He and Putin would end up defenestrating each other - which would be grand! 😂

JoshLymanSwagger · 07/06/2025 09:30

@logicisall Usha Vance was once a registered Democrat.
Funny that you don't hear the Republicans mention that.

Spandauer · 07/06/2025 09:33

Trump still 'defending' Putin.

“They gave Putin a reason to go in and bomb the hell out of them last night,” Trump says of Kyiv’s Operation Spiderweb.

My god he's disgusting. Gave Putin a reason?

I might be wrong, but wasn’t Trump once a registered Democrat, too?

Trump once said:

"If I were to run, I'd run as a Republican. They're the dumbest group of voters in the country. They believe anything on Fox News. I could lie and they'd still eat it up. I bet my numbers would be terrific."

Now that's not true. But what it tells us about Donald Trump is very interesting.

(Is there a venn diagram of Stewart Lee aficionados and US citizens ?)

Not sure if he was registered, but he was a massive donor. So was Musk.

It's the smart thing to do.

If you were making widgets that need a sub-widget, you'd be a fucking idiot to rely on one sub-wdget supplier for your entire operation.

(That observation is probably worth a years PPE study)

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 07/06/2025 10:39

Quick google AI tells me:
"Donald Trump was registered as a Democrat for over eight years, from August 2001 to September 2009, before switching back to the Republican Party. His shifting party affiliations have been a topic of discussion and criticism throughout his political career.”

Should have done this before my last post, sorry!

SerendipityJane · 07/06/2025 10:44

I've never really got this "Registered" Democrat or Republican bit. Does it confer any rights that not being registered bring in terms of the wider system :?

All I know is in the UK membership of any political party is generally on the down-low. Certainly no one has to know outside of you and the party.

President Zelenskyy: "We are not kids with Putin at the playground in the park. He [Putin] is a murderer who came to this park to kill the kids" — ABC News.

Zelenskyy responded to Trump's comparison of the Russo-Ukrainian war to "two little kids fighting in a park."

Presumably if you’re registered as one or the other, you have voting rights on the choice of Presidential candidate of the party you’re registered with (hence the interminable caucuses and primaries)?

Igotjelly · 07/06/2025 11:36

Well Trump can fuck off to the far side of fuck! Bombing airfields and planes that are killing civilians is not the same as massacring children night after night.
