Second '100 days' working out much like the first, but with a Vance-proof Pope, a bigly white elephant plane, a few more legal push backs and way more grifting.

@logicisall

I'm having Roast Chicken. 🐓🍊🌮

😁

The perfect dish then would be chicken tacos!

So will Elon's little DOGE band of spotty tech toddlers be marched out of their newly occupied offices now?

But they could have the means to literally flick the switch on all of US government - probably remotely from their mom/mum's basement.

Unfortunately I think they’ll kiss ‘n make up today and do statements talking about how passionate they both are about MAGA. Blah blah etc

But then he would say that, wouldn't he?

Is that like a football club board saying the manager has their full support?

SerendipityJane · 06/06/2025 10:17

If (remember that word) Elon wanted to hit Trump, it would be the work of a moment a a few million, to "buy" a few GOP congressmen and ensure they simply vote. That's the House jammed up for the next 2 years.

Or he could buy more and start impeachment.

I still want to know if Musk alone can shutter X ? Because that would be a body blow to MAGA the world over. And Musk could blame it on Trump - throwing petrol on the tinder that is the resentment of Trump.

Neither character is known for backing down.

Interesting article from BBC on the age problem in the Democratic Party.

I haven’t say I’m shocked by some of the stats -

3 congressional Democrats have already died this year

More than half of the 30 Democrats in the House over the age of 75 are planning on running again next year

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cpw7p2pjn11o

Jim Clyburn appears at a podium with Joe Biden, who is smiling, with an American flag in the background

Democrats wrestle with 'geriatric problem'

Democrats are wondering what to do with aging candidates after revelations about Joe Biden's health.

Of course Musk isn't going to shutter Xwitter.

It's his way to whisper in Xwitter-users' ears where they dont realise who is behind any give Xweet. He can literally have bots telling MAGA what to think.

It's an immensely powerful manipulative tool.

heldinadream · 06/06/2025 11:20

J.D. Vance, we see you, you sycophantic, arse-licking, boot-licking, duplicitous, amoral, slimy, oily, toadying worm.
WE SEE YOU.

Spandauer · 06/06/2025 11:23

Musk burnt his bridges in any popularity contest when he aligned himself with Drumpf. MAGAs were already extremely unlikely to drive/want to drive a Tesla so he lost the good will of many of the 'educated' and more environmentally conscious car followers who didn't necessarily like him but backed his businesses and acknowledged his achievements. Consequently he won't have as many people rooting for him in this "battle". MAGAs will never leave Trump and the majority will definitely turn against Elon. Trump is probably the stronger player but I do think Musk can cause a lot of problems for Trump and the GOP - what those end up being is anybody's guess at the moment. Maybe it will all be a storm in a teacup.

In the meantime, the schadenfreude is delicious.

So by extension his control of it - and the ability to shut it down or simply say "If you back Donald Trump, you're off Twitter" - is a bargaining position.

Obviously Trump - master of the deal - knows this.

There are weaknesses in the GOP that are waiting to be exploited. Now they've advertised themselves for sale to the highest bidder, why wouldn't that be Musk ?

I'm going with the suggestion that this all kicked off because Musks recommendation for the NASA job was rejected by Trump. Space is Musks dream, and it may have been unwise for Trump to think it was just another deal.

Well, who could have forseen this? What a shock. UK should ask Rees Mogg to send The Nanny to the White House, she'll sort it out promptly.

Musk doesn't have to announce anything about x. He just has to quietly adjust the algorithms to promote his ideology and hide Trumps supporters posts.

Does 'going at it' mean the same in American English as it does in English English?

😂Trump is planning to sell or give away the Tesla Musk delivered to him

Coffeetwosugars · 06/06/2025 14:59

Good afternoon, so I took a little break from all things political as my brain was starting to break from it all. Read the headlines this morning and have been doing a lot of catching up..
How long before Trump threatens to deport Elon? 😂
I'm stuck between finding it hilarious and also depressing that these are two of the most powerful people in the world..

Leon is a US citizen, if that counts for much.

I feel sorry for all the pensioner contributors who's pension money is invested in Tesla. Their pensions are devaluing every day. Trump and Elon are selfish, ignorant twats.

Has Leavitt done her press briefing yet

Btw poster upthread mentioned Musk as Pigozhin to Trump's Putin.

Is anyone keeping tabs on barking mad General Mike Flynn the "keeper of the MAGA flame"? If he turns against Trump it's genuinely big trouble

I idly wonder if there is a paper trail with some people logging an objection to that investment ? Might be some interesting legal cases if it turns out they were ignored ...
