Lots of people are going to be "suddenly discovering" that pic of Trump with Epstein.

The one we've been looking at for more than 8 years now.

I'm perfectly sure it will be everyone's fault but Trump's and MAGA's that the public mysteriously didn't know Trump was pals with Epstein.

Trump could probably simply deny that he knew Epstein and his supporters would accept that. After all, he's been found by a court to have committed sexual assault and his supporters just don't accept that.

The best hope here is that the stoush is poisonous to put people off both of them.

Vance was the rightwing techbros' pick for VP. Many of them have long despised Trump, and see him only as a useful tool to thrash around and break things to create opportunities for them.

Yes Musk is also talking about a completely new third political party. But instead, he and his mates might decide to call in that debt from Vance and fashion yet another new version of what used to be the Republican Party.

Vance will then have to decide who to brown-nose. Currently he has his head quite far up the Trumpian arse. But he can swivel on a dime – and he might just do that.

Of course it needs actual elected politicians to extirpate Trump via impeachment or the 25th amendment; the techbros can't do it on their own. But I've believed for a while now that the people using Trump intend to suddenly discover he's medically unfit when he's no longer of use to them.

So this will be interesting to watch. Musk is Trump's Prigozhin. We'll see who comes out on top.

I'm hoping this stoush shows the danger of allowing people to become obscenely rich. Everything- politics, the environment, public discourse- becomes their plaything.
