We are currently watching the Witcher. The main character is hot. He does this little growl that makes me go weak at the knees. Im 48 for goodness sake!

Johnny Lawrence from Cobra Kai. Yes sensei!
He kept me nicely distracted during lockdowns. Watching it again now.

Gene Hunt.

Tom Hardy in Taboo

Had a flash back to Ralph Fiennes in The English Patient. Gosh.

Mines not even a real person, Luke Costello from Mariyan Keyes Walsh sister book series.
And I know he’s not an actor but Jason Orange.

SunComeBack · 29/05/2025 10:11

Oooh I’ve just remembered another, Gannicus from Spartacus, but only as a Gladiator.

BangersAndGnash · 29/05/2025 10:16

I couldn’t watch the last episode of the last series of the Wolf Hall books because I couldn’t bear to see Mark Rylance’s Cromwell executed.

Was also in love with Shetland’s Jimmy Perez

And Bill Nighy in Marigold Hotel.

I obviously have a thing about weather beaten older men with gentlemanly qualities

Oh yes Mark Rylance! The twinkle in his eye.

AlicesMum2025 · 29/05/2025 10:18

Alan Ritchson as Reacher
Matt Bomer in anything but especially White Collar
Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton
Hannah Waddingham in anything but particularly Ted Lasso

I agree with every one of those and would add Professor Snape from Harry Potter.

The georgous resonant voice and swishing cape.

MaMisled · 29/05/2025 10:20

Kath from Kath and Kim

Ihateboris · 29/05/2025 10:22

Oh yes, I'd forgotten about Bill! 😍

MrsSkylerWhite · 29/05/2025 10:25

Oh and Gene Hunt and Worzel Gummidge (as played by McKenzieCrook) 😁

MrsSkylerWhite · 29/05/2025 10:26

And Inspector Morse (how did I forget him?!)

Simplynotsimple · 29/05/2025 10:28

Rewatching Modern Family at the moment, going to say Phil. Not my ‘type’ but he’s just an incredibly supportive and positive character, it’s a rare thing to see such an involved ‘dad’ character in sitcoms. He was the original Bandit Heeler!

Weclomehome · 29/05/2025 10:34

Michael Socha's character in This is England, he's exactly the kind of guy I'd be attracted to in real life.

Vigo Mortensen as Aragorn in Lord of the Rings

Also Ned and Rob Stark and Jon Snow in Game of Thrones.

MrsSkylerWhite · 29/05/2025 10:38

Oh and Tom Hardy as the pilot in Dunkirk. Acts with his eyes. And Benedict Cumberbatch as Richard III.

Would say Jon Snow but I’m old enough to be the character’s granny, so won’t!

Jasmin71 · 29/05/2025 10:42

Dana Scully
Dexter Morgan

SnowflakeSmasher86 · 29/05/2025 10:42

Roy Kent from Ted Lasso
Greg House from House
Roman Roy from Succession
Jack Pearson from This is Us

Ooh, I forgot about Strike. Definitely him too!

No, don't forget Strike!

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 29/05/2025 10:49

Lucas North - Spooks.

As a teenager, my first crushes were Mr Rochester (Jane Eyre) and Pennington (KM Peyton, Pennington's Seventeenth Summer & sequels). Both were deeply problematical men, with red flags flying.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 29/05/2025 10:52

David McCallum as Steel, in Sapphire and Steel. Not anything else, just that. And Matt Baynton as Thomas Thorne. And only that role.

I worry about myself sometimes.

Matt is wonderful.

Jaime Lannister. I disapprove of some of his habits, like having sex with his sister in the cathedral and pushing small children out of high windows, but dammit, he is HOT.

Minor issues, clearly.
