He's an illegal migrant! Stop the, erm ... PLANES!

He's not in the UK. He's in the USA.

I love map weirdness.

I love Folkestone, France. And Calais, England.

There are many many others. I'm trying to 'collect' them as places to go.

That Jet2 plane is going as fast as its little wings can carry it now - pilot must be shitting himself. It left twenty minutes late but it's going to get to Manchester ten minutes early.

Very popular. I'm addicted to it. Seeing planes fly overhead as you look out your window and then check flightradar to see where it's going. Also love see two planes that are in line with each other (flightradar shows a direct collision) but you look up at the sky and see the difference in altitude between them (thinks it's 2000 feet that is the minimum distance). After a while of tracking flights you can soon tell the make of the plane by the sound it makes. KLM with their 787s you can hear them coming a mile off.

Also learning about why planes travel north when their destination is west as they use the curvature of the Earth to cut down on distance. I'm in northern Ireland and constantly see flights from Heathrow pass overhead when they are about to cross the Atlantic. Had always wondered why the plane in the Lockerbie bombing went straight up to Scotland from London when it was going west to New York so that answered that one.

There's a Jet2 flight that doesn't seem to have got the memo about taking an alternative route. Hope they don't shoot it ! 😮

I think that shooting down a Jet2 flight full of British passengers over the UK might be a diplomatic disaster zone. Even for DT.

Have I missed something? Do people track flight radar as a hobby? It actually sounds quite fun!

Above comment was in response to this.

@ChessorBuckaroo

"the difference in altitude between them (thinks it's 2000 feet that is the minimum distance)."

For info it's generally 1000 feet these days.

PoopingAllTheWay · 13/05/2025 00:35

It was planned to refuel at the US airbase Mildenhall while on his way to the Middle East

HauntedBungalow · 13/05/2025 00:47

Ooh, this one here, a US air force plane, left Camp Springs shortly before the 'no call sign' planes did - the ones with Trump etc on them. It is carrying on past them now - I wonder if that means they'll leave soon.

This is him, directly behind the USAF planes. As you can see he is not only incognito but also is orange.

No change there, then! 😆

He’s on his way to Qatar.

The two plane thing I know because Obama went to the same conference when he was in.
