This.

Theres always two so no one knows which one the president is on.

Thing is for that to work you'd have to.fly both aircraft around simultaneously.

Having two is much more to do with having a spare for when one of the airframes is off having deep maintenance and/or checks - some of the really deep stuff can put an aircraft out of use for weeks or even months

BeNiceWhenItsFinished · 12/05/2025 23:40

Well, whichever one he's on, let's hope he soon buggers off again.

TaggieO · 12/05/2025 23:40

Probably time for him to deliver Putin’s next handjob.

Mildenhall is a USAF base, isn't it? So would The Oranged One need UK govt / military permission to stop over, or can he come and go as he pleases?

It is a US military base, so I assume he can come and go as he pleases. I very much doubt whether he thought to bother with his passport.

Nah I reckon the second one is to transport all his spray tan!

HauntedBungalow · 12/05/2025 23:44

He's an illegal migrant! Stop the, erm ... PLANES!

And his wigs.

RingLater · 12/05/2025 23:45

I stayed in a holiday let that turned out to be under the flight path for Mildenhall.
Loved it! Wish I'd been there tonight.

Will DT stay over at Mildenhall?

And his posse of arse-lickers.

HauntedBungalow · 12/05/2025 23:49

Apparently he's just going to refuel and get going again. According to that mail article the quickest he's been previously is 26 minutes.
(Insert your own joke.)

Reports earlier today suggested this is meant to be just a quick refuelling stop enroute to the Middle East

26 minutes too long.

Have I missed something? Do people track flight radar as a hobby? It actually sounds quite fun!

Lotsofsnacks · 12/05/2025 23:57

He's on the way to the Middle East, for meetings in UAE, Saudi and Qatar. Must be nipping in here for refuelling and a quick pint

Yes, we do - especially if there's a big fly-past happening, or it is really windy - you can watch aircraft trying to land, having to go around and try again, and then give up and try their luck somewhere else. You might also get hooked on Big Jet TV - he's a guy who films planes landing at Heathrow in bad weather. His footage of particularly hairy landings sometimes gets on the tv news.

Have a look at this one. Not The Donald, but weird none the less

They're just training flights. Get them over us all the time. Massive loud things. A couple of years ago they were doing loops over us for a couple of hours from about midnight on the hottest night of the year when all our windows were wide open. I was not happy.

BeNiceWhenItsFinished · 13/05/2025 00:05

Flight N/A is showing up as flightpath from Mildenhall to 'not available' so could well be taking off shortly.

YES! Quite addictive!

I also follow friends and family as they fly. 🤭

The entirety of East Anglian airspace is totally clear of traffic at the moment, apart from Stansted flights to the south. They aren't following their usual flight paths at all, arrivals normally come in over us.

Yes absolutely. I started doing it during lockdown, kind of vicariously travelling I think.

I've got a few areas that I like looking at - seeing the planes that go to Antarctica, also the ones that cross from Russia to the USA, not the regular international jet routes, but the little planes that fly across the Bering Strait. All the private jets really - the ones that go to Brazil from East Africa, probably full of blood diamonds and war criminals; the ones that go across the Canadian wilderness, must be some wheeling and dealing going on I think to myself, or maybe it's some massive cowboy type of person. It's fascinating.

BeNiceWhenItsFinished · 13/05/2025 00:14

@HauntedBungalow I quite like watching the helicopters going out to the oil rigs in the North Sea, and sometimes the air ambulance ones. I was following one a couple of years ago and it landed in the field at the bottom of our street!

HauntedBungalow · 13/05/2025 00:16

Oh my that must have been quite a jolt! From screen to street! Yes helicopters are good as well. And the RAF/USAF training flights where they whizz around and refuel in midair.

HauntedBungalow · 13/05/2025 00:18

There's a Jet2 flight that doesn't seem to have got the memo about taking an alternative route. Hope they don't shoot it ! 😮

TheSquareMile · 13/05/2025 00:23

Radio 4 included an item on the midnight news about his journey a few minutes ago.

He's on his way to Saudi and Qatar.
