names of yesteryear

I was watching an old film and two characters were Sherry and Brandy. I did grow up with girls having this name but have not heard of it for years.
it is like the names Joy and Joyce very popular in the 60s which is when I was named Joy.
Is there any names you have not heard of for years?

I think Sherry is often an anglicisation of Chéri(e), rather than specifically referring to the drink.

Aside from the ones already mentioned, I'm surprised that Hugh, Jill, Laura, and Susannah seem to have fallen (mostly) out of use for human babies.

My class at primary school.had multiple girls with the names Sarah, Rebecca and Claire (so they had to be known as Sarah B and Sarah H, for example), and there were always a few called Nicola, Michelle and Lynsey too.

The popular boys' names were Mark, David, Stewart, Richard, Andrew, James.

I hardly know anybody with these names now! My work colleagues are mostly female and a similar age to me, but none of them are called Rebecca, Claire, Nicola, Michelle or Lynsey (there is a Sarah). Where have all the Claires, Michelles etc gone?!

They all work with me. Tons of Claires and Rachels and a few Michelles.

Elaine's are quite rare, I've met 3 or 4 ever. Usually 60+ age group. In the same age group a lot of very commonly used girls names have not come back into fashion. Debra/Deborah, Tracey/Tracy, Sharon, Karen, Jacky/Jacquy.

There's lots of Sylvia's! And Albert was the 55th most popular boys name in the UK last year.
