Mumsnet doesn’t count. I’m talking about FB, instagram, X, Rumble, and sky blue etc

Notice OP hasn't been back ...

Funny that.

OP is here. Busy day, kids to sort out and can now sit down for a bit. Nothing sinister about my post. I live in the UK and usually get my news from the guardian and Bluesky. BBC is ok, but skynews is awful. i asked because so much misinformation I’ve noticed no one here watches GB NEWS, well No one has admitted that’s what they watch seems such many right wingers now relying on reformer
to save the day lol especially on social media , in real life I don’t come across many. I wonder if people keep it quiet

I look at BBC news. If there is something I want to know more about, I'll look at different news agencies. Plus get the I newspaper on a Saturday.

CheerfulBunny · 20/04/2025 19:54

I don't watch any news or read any. When you take a step back from it you realise how ridiculous it is. Never been one for SM, apart from occasionally coming on here. I don't feel I'm interesting enough to hold forth on a particular platform. Maybe I have an inferiority complex 😄

Social media is biased and unreliable

never occurred to me to use it for news

Tbf so are some news channels. Al Jazeera is grand example now sadly

Because I just couldn’t give a shit. I don’t care about who is blowing who up, what war is going on, what daft thing some samey-samey government in power is doing.

I don’t care. I’m happy.

Ignorance is bliss, as some say.

BBC ,sky, local online newspaper for what's happening in home city

lljkk · 20/04/2025 22:03

MN is social media. I get a lot of news from here, lol

if mumsnet doesnt count, i have no social media, and use tv news and the radio for news, plus some podcasts. My sources are admittedly vety BBC heavy (but i still trust them!)

TheeNotoriousPIG · 20/04/2025 22:16

I am clearly so out of the loop that I've never even heard of Rumble or Sky Blue! 😳

I admit that I don't tend to keep up with the news, mostly because it is usually depressing and/or biased one way or another, as well as quite irrelevant a lot of the time. What's happening in cities like London isn't really relevant to very rural North Wales, etc.

I might hear someone mentioning something at work, or see the occasional interesting headline when I click to open up the internet. Other than that, I don't usually bother with it, and I like it that way. Call me ignorant or naive, but it gives me less to worry about when the media hypes things up and whips the nation into panic mode.

And so what? We are all different. Does it matter to anyone else?

My life is shit enough, I’ve been through years of hell and I’ve got something fucking terrible happening, I cannot and will not give a fuck about anything else.
