Male in female toilets

Conniebygaslight · 31/03/2025 09:38

So yesterday I'd popped to the supermarket and after my shop went to the loo. It was empty, I went to the cubicle which was ajar and pushed it open. There sitting on the toilet was a bloke in his 40s with his trousers and pants around his ankles. He frightened me to death. I shot out of said toilets and reported him to the staff. If a child had gone in there alone I dread to think....dodgy as hell. And no it wasn't a bloke pretending to be a woman.(Not that that is any better)

Maybe he was assigned male at birth but she was actually a woman who looked like a man?

So a male then in the female toilets.

Why are you referring to the person in the toilets as both “he” and “she”? Or are you talking about two different people?

Bodonka · 31/03/2025 12:22

It’s awful but it happens and tbf staff members can’t always do anything. People who deliberately do things like this tend to get aggressive when challenged.

I once (I thought helpfully!) told a guy going into the ladies that it was the ladies. Clearly a man, suit and tie, very tall, muscular, short hair, briefcase etc etc. He snapped at me that all men’s toilets stink so he just uses the women’s ones, and if I had a problem I shouldn’t use public loos!

Exactly. What a confused post.

If you're female, use the women's toilet. If you're male, use the men's. It's as simple as that.

Of course this guy knew what he was doing. Leaving the door ajar? Women rarely do that unless they're keeping an eye on a child or chatting to a friend or something.

Conniebygaslight · 31/03/2025 12:23

There were 2 doors to get into the loos so he would've heard me coming and had time to close the door....

I thought the PP was joking with this TBH...

You never know nowadays.

Anyway, what a gross thing to happen to you Connie.

@imnotsickbutimnotwell
You are raising a very valid point and I apologise for my mishap.
Let me rephrase it:
Maybe she was assigned male at birth but she was actually a woman who looked like a man?

Yeah whatever. Lock the fucking door!

Of course! But OP is not complaining about that.
But yes, by all means, regardless of what you have between the legs, do have the decency to shut the bloody cubicle door.

PontiacFirebird · 31/03/2025 12:31

I was in a ladies toilet ( multiple cubicles one) the other day. I was drying my hands and this man walked in, saw me, nodded, and headed for a cubicle. I said “ er, this is the ladies!” he sort of paused and then went “oh ok” and went out again.
I thought it was really weird because most people walking into a toilets would turn on their heel and mutter “sorry” as soon as they saw their mistake.
Im a forthright woman, but if I was a kid I might not have said anything.

Hoydenish · 31/03/2025 12:32

Connie I am so sorry, it is really frightening.

Gundogday · 31/03/2025 12:32

Exactly. Who doesn’t lock a door, and if it had been a mistake, he would have been apologetic.

Sorry? Of course it's part of what she's complaining about. If the door had been locked she wouldn't have pushed it open would she.

SlipperyLizard · 31/03/2025 12:34

I don’t think men do habitually lock cubicle doors (NAMALT, I know).

I was in a small bar once with only one loo, unisex with the sink & toilet inside. One door that opened directly to the bar area.

Guy goes in & proceeds to have a piss, all the while chatting to his friend who was stood just outside of the still open door. Both of them completely oblivious to how inappropriate it was to have a piss in full view of other customers.

Bogginsthe3rd · 31/03/2025 12:43

On the face of it this sounds like a simple mistake OP. Poor guy was probably mortified.

If he’d shut and locked the door then OP wouldn’t have seen him on the toilet. Poor guy my arse. He would have known he hadn’t locked the door because it wasn’t even shut. He probably got a huge thrill from it.

Of course those men knew it was inappropriate they just didn't care.

GrimGusset · 31/03/2025 12:58

@SlipperyLizard Did he wash his hands? Or was he like so many men who think that their dick is super clean so no need to wash their hands after touching it?

SlipperyLizard · 31/03/2025 13:01

@GrimGusset i didn’t really want to watch to find out! Doubtful though, let’s face it.

He's still a man regardless of what he calls himself. Nothing is “assigned” at birth. You can’t change your sex.

Ok, I’ll ride the bus to the next stop but why would he leave the door slightly ajar too??

I really can’t believe your actual sympathy lies with the poor ickle pervy bloke. 🙄

What about the shock the poor OP got and anyone else who stumbled upon him? Or because the OP’s a woman, she needs go shut up and ‘be kind’?

The door was about a quarter open, enough to be able to see who was coming in and out. If the door had've been locked I'd have been none the wiser.

Rosecoffeecup · 31/03/2025 13:19

I always approach an ajar cubicle door with caution because you never know what might be behind it 😫

Sorry this happened to you OP, I'd have jumped out of my skin. I've accidentally gone into the mens toilets before (at work of all places) so appreciate it can happen but I'm very sceptical of a man not noticing the lack of urinals and the signage

Unless he was not compos mentis, he's probably a dirty bugger
