Good morning from the train to London King's X! I'm on the way to the applicants day at Westminster Uni with dd1 who wants to study Law there.

We were up super early, fed the kittens, sorted washing and left the house at 6:30am <yawn>.

Plan is applicants day until noon ish, then wander - Camden maybe? Or somewhere else? I fancy a market to wander if anyone wants to recommend somewhere!

Dd2's stayed at home with their dad - they were asked to come with us but 2 hours mooching without purpose & a 7am train did not appeal 🤷‍♀️

She probably needs a slow day anyway after Gracie Abrams in Leeds on Thursday, then an exam yesterday 💤

I woke up at 6am very early for me caught up on my sleep normally i dont get up till 9-10 am got the weekend and all next week to myself.
Im meant to be de-cluttering today havent made a start yet.

Good morning, I’ve been fitting some units in our garage and I have one to go, when thats done I can fit the worktops on the units. The cat is helping, so having the screws taken away to be chewed is definitely assisting with the whole thing.

We’re going to a garden centre later as we need a new mower, we have a petrol one, but the fuel tank has cracked and they don’t make them for this particular one anymore and getting a custom one done was far too expensive.

I'm just eating breakfast then off to an aqua class. I regretted booking it when I tried to get out of bed at 8, but now I'm up I'm glad I did. I need to wash my hair and I love the showers at my gym.

Not sure about the rest of the day. The house is gleaming as the cleaners were here and I’m up to date with the laundry. Things are much quieter now we're empty nesters. Maybe wander over to the garden centre for some lunch and a look at the flowers, I do need a few bags of soil.

Sunny but freezing as usual in my corner of Scotland.

It’s another beautiful, sunny morning here! I’m drinking a coffee by the window while DS builds Lego and DH makes breakfast. It’s very peaceful.

I need to do a bit of housework and then get myself ready because DS is off to hang out with FIL, and DH and I are off out for some lunch, a few drinks and a mooch which I’m really looking forward to. We’ll probably have a fairly quiet evening. I’m feeling very happy today.

Good morning I’ve been up early as got my 5 year old grandson as his mam at work this morning. Then popping to grab a few bits from home bargains and then I’m looking forward to a quiet afternoon as husband out watching the rugby . Few wines tonite and watching Shetland . Will get up soon and endure my weekly yoga class. Then drop two old camcorder tapes off in town to be converted to dvd. Dying to see what's on them..the dcs when they were little but doing what?
Then some gardening in the very welcome spring sunshine.

I was in Australia for five weeks so missed these threads due to time difference. Got back on Tuesday.

I have been up ages. Had a few cups of tea and emptied and reloaded the dishwasher as was too tired to do it last night. It’s on again. Washing machine is also on doing mattress and pillow protectors after a bed change yesterday. Have some more washing and unpacking and putting away to do after my trip.

About to make a smoothie for breakfast - I had some dental treatment yesterday so am sticking to softish foods for a few days.

Hoping to get DS and DH to help put the boxes of Christmas stuff away. We didn’t get to do it before I went away as DH had hurt his ankle and couldn’t get up into the attic.

Might pop to the garden centre for some plants to put in two planters by the front door. Need to pull out the dead ones too.

Not sure what’s for dinner. Possibly chilli and rice.

planning on reading my book for an hour this afternoon too.

@CalicoPusscat I was thinking of doing cauliflower cheese as there’s a huge head of cauliflower in the fridge that’s taking up a lot of space. I may save that for a separate cauliflower and pasta cheese bake later next week. Maybe you’re right about getting some nice vegetables and just serving the ham with buttered potatoes and asparagus, perhaps?

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone. In bed but have been awake since about 7. DH has a rare day off so we’ve had a cuppa & he’s now in the bathroom. I’m working later. We haven’t done the dishwasher for a couple of days so there’s a lot to go in once it’s unloaded. At some point I need to swap the kitchen tablecloth as the Christmas candy cane one is still on! I’m going to clear all the crap off too, ready for the cleaners who are coming in the week to do the kitchen cupboards & fridge. So excited to be able to find all my spices etc! I asked DD16 to give me a make up lesson the other day so hopefully that will happen when I get home. She has no other plans I don’t think. DH is having filled pasta with a bought sauce for tea & I’ll buy a cook from frozen meal in a bag from work - there are some really nice ones. I was going to have a ready meal but forgot to defrost it. No BGT tonight because of the rugby so we’ll probably watch a film. I might have an alcohol free fruit cider.

I am still in bed, woke up feeling ill because I've caught ds2 cold.
My sister is meant to be popping over but I am hoping to put her off. I know she will bring her new bf who sounds like a red flag walking and I cannot be arsed trying to put on a show while feeling like shit.
I just want a relaxing day full of TV and reading my kindle.

Currently in the customer lounge area of the dealership where my car is in for its service and MoT. Too far to go home. They've got a new lad on the service desk next to me who is quite entertaining.

Have helped myself to a hot chocolate and am indulging in some guilt-free mumsnetting.

DH has gone to the other end of the country for football so once I'm done here, the rest of the day is mine to do as I wish 😊

It is our first weekend in weeks without any big travel commitments, so I shall catch up with chores. I’m actually looking forward to it, though. Everything has been piling up a bit. and I shall be listening to F1 coverage and a new audiobook, plus the latest episodes of some of my favourite radio programmes.

I was up sharp, stripped the bed, washed it and the bedding is now hung out. While it was in the machine I went to Aldi and stocked up. I've had a slice of toast and a cuppa. Shortly I'll head out for second breakfast with a friend. Then put petrol in the car and pop to the library probably. Pork chop with potatoes, tender stem broccoli and peas for dinner. Have cleaned the kitchen after a couple of drinks and chilli and nachos last night. Grated cheese all over my kitchen counters.. how and why?? 😂 Head is a little sore this morning! Dp has gone to work for a couple of hours and dd is at her dads this weekend so just ds and I today. Plans are dog walk via the playground, pop into town for a couple of bits, second dog walk and then we are off for an Indian late afternoon when dp gets home. Will be my sons choice of film this evening, I know it will be some action movie that I have no interest in what so ever so I will read my kindle whilst them two enjoy the film!

Thank fuck it’s the weekend! It was a very long, exhausting week at work this week. Have lovely Saturdays all.

Good morning everyone! Just back from a 5 mile dog walk in beautiful sunshine, the skylarks are nest in some of the fields so I couldn’t let her off lead in those but she enjoyed the wander through the woods and is now sleeping in a pool of sunlight on the rug.
I have had a coffee and two slices of sourdough toast 😋, the washing is on.
Beefburgers and chips (no rolls) for dinner with peas and onion rings I think, cba to do anything fancy.
Nothing much planned except another dog walk later.

I’ve been up and given the dogs a quick walk, then dropped them at the groomers, so I won’t have my shadows for a couple of hours.
Off out for lunch this afternoon and then dinner tonight for my lovely SIL birthday.

I suppose I’d better fit in some housework somewhere too!

Good morning lucysmam and all.
We have sunshine but there are dark clouds and rain to come, so washing hung up in the boiler room today.
However, there is something about the quality of the light when it shines through the wet atmosphere and dark clouds that I really like.

DH is wrestling with the technicalities of the new phone system, leaving increasingly desperate messages on the voicemail that he hasn’t been able to work. (I think he's done it, the hero)
I am waiting in for the man to collect the skip, so I can get the dogs inside beforehand, as the younger one is really freaked by loud heavy machinery.
I am planting a few seeds, in the hope that I will get my garden back soon!

Later, I will carry on my grand decluttering and giving away task, very tiresome but got to be done. I will reward myself with hot chocolate and reading by the fire.
We have a ham hock in the slow cooker, which is tonight's supper, with parsley sauce and veg.

Going to an art gallery and a nice lunch out

Just chilling at home at the moment, and gearing up to run the hoover round the downstairs.
Then heading out just after 12 for lunch with a friend... We had some slightly cool words with each other just after Christmas, and this is the first time meeting up since. Whereas normally we meet up about once a month to every 6 weeks. Honestly, I needed a break. I like her, but she's very intense, although I know she means well.
In the end I reached out, and she seemed keen, so we're going for it.
I'll see how this meet-up goes, but I think the next "reach out" will be down to her.
After that I'm off to Lidl, which is quite near where we're having lunch, and then a bit of a potter in the garden, depending what time it is. I need to make some drainage holes in some pots!

Was hoping for a lie in as we had been out to a show last night but DDog and DCat put paid to that at 7.

Going to meet up with family soon and a have a walk. Then I’m out with friends for a meal. Been trying to arrange this for months.

I was up at 6, these days I can't sleep past that time, but it gives me a few hours of peace & quiet to read and journal. I've done my housework for the day and have now got a cup of tea while I peruse the new books page on the local library catalogue to see if there's any I fancy reserving. My cockatiel is asleep perched under my chin, which makes it slightly awkward everytime I raise my cup to my lips 🙄.

DH is cooking lunch (picky bits to try & empty the freezer a bit) and tea later (homemade pizza). I'm thinking about whether to go and see my sister for a couple of hours later this afternoon.

Usual 6am get up to walk dog + do horse then back home to wake DD up and drive her to bus stop for school.
Various bits of cleaning until DD comes home at lunchtime, chuck a bacon sarnie down her throat then off for riding lesson + Pony Club training.
Back up to horse around 5pm then collapse with bottle wine + takeaway. DD will do homework tonight as she is at drama rehearsals most of tomorrow. Also has revision for PC Nationals and her C+ test.

Morning Saturday crew. Have had a long break from MN and decided to come back under a fresh new name because I miss these threads 😆

I was up at 7 and had a bath before going to collect DS who was at his first sleepover with friends last night. I hear they were up very early so I'm hoping he will have a nap today (unlikely!)
DD and I had Girls night which was lovely. She's just arisen out of bed announcing she is off for a run having put on my leggings which haven't been used for exercise for about 4 years the joys of teens. 🙄
Friend is coming with her DC for our first barbecue of the year (albeit with coats on 😆) so they will all leg it round the garden with the dog they are looking after. Hoping we can pack them off to the park and have a couple of glasses of wine!

Then DS and I will watch the rugby. I'd planned on teriyaki beef tonight but there's left over Chinese and by the time we've all had hot dogs and donuts I suspect it will be leftovers 😆

Parents are making noises about going to the St Paddy's day parade in London tomorrow. DC seem surprisingly quite excited by the idea but DM has gone down with some wierd virus so we may just stay home. It's a friends birthday so we will probably pop over and see him instead.

Morning everyone (barely 😅)! Laaaazy lazy coffee time in bed with DP currently — we’re gearing up to get dressed and showered. He’s got a couple of hours at work and I’m meeting a friend to tell her all about how and why I’m leaving my (very toxic) job for a new career. 🎊 Then he’ll come meet us for a few and — unless something goes terribly wrong, like Jäger bombs making an appearance — it’ll be back home for a quiet evening in with the cats.
