Good Morning All! What's everyone doing today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, after a nice lie in snuggled up with both kittens (they're nearly a year old now!) who came to bed after I kicked them out of the bedroom for mountaineering at 7am 🤣. Everyone else is still in bed, for now, so it's nice and quiet. Won't last long though...one of the girls' Alexa alarms has just gone off & I'm not sure which one!

There's a couple of loads of washing to be done this morning, and last night's cooked breakfast pots to be washed. No-one could be bothered after tea. & when I've posted this, I'm going to list a couple of things on Vinted while I finish my tea.

Today I'm off to a gig, in Leeds, with dd1 that isn't one of her birthday ones! We've booked more for the opener than main act but enjoy both so it should be fun! Plan is to leave here between 2/3pm, get the train, and eat in Leeds before walking to the venue 40 mins out of the centre <prays to the Google Maps Gods for simple directions>. We'll be on the last train home & straight to bed for me, after a cuppa 💤

Dd2 wasn't fussed about doing anything today when their dad asked - she's off out with a friend tomorrow.

What about all of you? 🙂

@PurpleTinsel555 I started a BIG declutter this week. Embarrassingly, I removed 7 bin liners from my things alone, in one corner 🙈. It desperately wants doing though & some days I'm just too knackered to even think about it.

@rosao we have just started watching Bergerac. Very different from the old series but you are probably much too young to remember that!

Oh, is it good? I love the original. John Nettles was a bit of a teen crush

DH and I were out by 9. Dropped doggo at day care for a couple of hours. Went for breakfast, stocked up on dog supplies at pets at home, went to a couple of charity shops for a mooch.

Now back home for a massive kitchen clear up. General chores for a couple of hours. Then later I’m going to get cracking with a book I just started. Spag Bol for dinner.

DS and his GF are here and hyped about going to see Sabrina Carpenter tomorrow so we have her as our soundtrack until they go to work later.

The weather here is gorgeous so I’m just about to hang washing out for the first time this year. Happy days!

Had first coffee of the year sitting outside in the garden. So lovely to feel the sun on my face.

We are going to Richmond later for dinner to celebrate a teen birthday. I think it’s going to be busy given the sunshine in London!

I’m announcing my pregnancy to family today, and it’s twins!. My family are coming over for lunch in the garden and I’ve got them all mugs to announce it, which is definitely a bit twee but we’ve wanted children for a long time and we’re just so excited. I feel like a kid at Christmas, I keep looking out the window to see if they’ve arrived.

Had a massive lie in and now am home alone! DD has gone to play futsal, DH has gone to the match. I'm going to go for a sunny walk and then go into town to meet him for a few drinks. Trying to walk more but my foot is getting really sore which is driving me mad

Oh @thatmistylight many congratulations 🎉

I'm still very poorly as my autoimmune arthritis has flared and I'm now 2 weeks off my feet. It's been incredibly frustrating as I have 3 little ones and it's been glorious this week.

I'm waiting for the funding to be approved to start a new medication and in the meantime I'm just managing the best I can.

Today I did actually manage to take all 3 DC to swimming lessons and we came home via the park that has has just reopened after refurbishment. Thankfully its all quite close to home and I was able to spend a lot of the morning sitting.

I'm resting before lunch (French loaves / salad / dips and some ham for build your own sandwiches) and this afternoon we're just going to hang out in the local community garden. I'll take a flask of tea and the kids have planned some games. Again it's close and I can just sit with my book.

DP has had to work today but will be on hand tomorrow so I can rest properly.

Dinner will be something quick and easy. Pesto pasta bowls or a chilli from the freezer.

@gingercat02 I'm reserving judgement at the moment. Bergerac's rich father in law has turned into a rich mother in law (Felicity Kendall) and I don't remember Bergerac having such a tortured personality, but I probably didn't see the original series from the start so I might have missed out on that bit... plus I was a LOT younger so probably missed all sorts of nuances in the original. I don't like the music, but that's incidental.

I think I like it - and it's worth seeing just for Jersey!

Rainbow1235 · 08/03/2025 12:53

Afternoon I’m very late as up early to do a food shop then to cemetery to check on mams grave as the bloody sheep keep eating the flowers not sure how they get in but they do. And I’m now supervising the husband whilst he cleans his shed of all the crap he keeps saying will come in handy one day . Then chilling tonite and goin to binge watch the bay and obviously wine will be involved 🍷😊

@Bbq1 we see a lot of tiny indie bands. Last weekend's gig was 55 people & a whole tenner for each ticket 🤣. We do go to some big ones too though & have Gracie Abrams on Thursday! Was it you whose DS needed his amp repaired? How did that go?

That was me, @lucysmam! Well remembered! He got it fixed and it was s brilliant fix by a professional for only £50. Absolute bargain. Thank you for asking. It's great discovering new bands and so good you support smaller bands. 55 people is a nice number.

RabbitsRock · 08/03/2025 13:46

thatmistylight congratulations! That’s lovely for you & your family 🎈🎉🍾🥂🎇🎆💥

I’ve been emptying out our garage, this house belonged to my husbands grandma, and before that his great grandma so there was a lot of just crap. Apparently there was a need for seven hammers, 12 sweeping brush heads, three hedge strimmers (my husband pointed out that this property has never had a hedge or tree), two racks of wooden shelving rammed full of old crockery, a broken chest freezer being used as storage, and just so much random crap. Then anything that can be donated has, anything else has gone, I’ve swept it, including the very dusty walls and mopped, again, including the walls! So now its ready to be painted tomorrow, I need to seal the floor as well so it can be mopped and dried without the floor soaking up water. Next week we’re having some units delivered and proper racking for tools etc, its an odd shape, the back is wider than the front so just units along the back is a lot of storage, I have tested the car and even when thats in we’ll be able to open the unit doors etc.

DilemmaDelilah · 08/03/2025 16:33

@gingercat02 Charlie Hungerford (Bergerac's mother in law) is played by Zoe Wanamaker not Felicity Kendall! Don't know how I managed to get them mixed up.....

Papadonut · 08/03/2025 16:47

We are hunkering down waiting for cyclone Alfred to pass. Watching a lot of Netflix, the queen's gambit is excellent.
