I have an ex-sister in law and two current sister in laws all called Karen. What are the odds of this?
This not to mention my boss and my best freind of 40 years both called Karen.

I have a group of 6 women I meet up with for lunch regularly and three of us have the same name and another has a name that was traditionally a pet version of the name ( like Daisy is to Margaret)

I went to a meeting of a new local women's group last week ( sort of WI but not ) There were 6 women on my table and three of us had the same name.

I was born in 1970 when I think parents must have all been forced to choose from a pool of only 10 names. And ,in response to an earlier post about middle names, mine is indeed Louise!

Up until 1999, the French had a list of names one could choose from, so this thread would be filled by people whose entire life is filled with Pierre's or Agnes's.
Needless to say, Chardonnay, Brooklyn, etc were not allowed!
Interesting about surnames tho..
'In France, a person’s birth name, also called family name, is used as a legal name. It is the one and only name on French official documents. As a direct consequence, French married women keep their unmarried name on their official documents all their life.'

Note, making up names for this.

My mum is Sarah. When she got together with her husband, she thought his dad hated her. This is because his two older brothers had both married a Karen therefore he decided he was going to call my mum Karen as well!

I think there are popular names in most generations, and if you're all of a similar age, it's not surprising to end up with several of you with the same name.

My mum took me to the doctor as a kid. He told me I was the third firstname surname with the same birthday (not year) he had seen that morning! None of us related either.

Grandfather called Daniel, called his son Daniel and his daughter (my mum)married a Daniel. My husband’s brother is called Daniel and so is his uncle. I barely ever meet any other Daniels

I'd say that beats me!

How old?
I would hazard a guess late 50,s early 60,s?based on the Karen's I know.
