Have you got a problem you are ignoring at the moment?

My car has an intermittent light that keeps coming on. I know I should take it to the garage but the car itself was a very big indulgence and has been nothing but trouble since I got it.
Anyone else turning a blind eye?

The one thing I never ignore is my smear test and I had mine last month. There is, however, a long list of other things that I am failing to get round to ignoring for now

Clytemnestra21 · 04/03/2025 22:57

Oh gosh reading this list and at least 7/8 have posted things I'm ignoring!

menopausalfart · 04/03/2025 23:00

My garden. I can't stand the thought of going out there.

Yep, still don’t have a will. Been meaning to do it for, oh, 18 years.

Because of all the work that needs doing? If so, same

Flopsy145 · 04/03/2025 23:03

I know I have a dentist appointment this month but they haven't sent confirmation. I need to ring them and ask

menopausalfart · 04/03/2025 23:05

@wordywitch Yep. I'd like to get it ready for the warmer months but I just can't face it.

You're lucky if you just have the one head in the sand issue.
I reckon I've got about ten on the go.

Me too!

Please please book your smear test. It's an uncomfortable ten mins of your time that could save your life

I’m too scared so I’ve never had one. Would serve me right if I get cervical cancer

nomorebored · 04/03/2025 23:12

For anyone nervous about a smear test, you can be referred to get it done as a more sensitive patient, which happened to me as apparently I have a 'difficult cervix' (charming!) and having had a normal appointment where it couldn't be done, I then had one at the local hospital, they were careful and it was done there.

RabbitsRock · 04/03/2025 23:13

I’m taking strong painkillers daily & not admitting to myself that I’m very likely becoming addicted to codeine 😢

Ohyeahwaitaminute · 04/03/2025 23:13

This stuff takes up SO much headspace doesn’t it?

I got a couple of jobs done today…

Car has been due a service since November and I called the garage to book it in. Took all of 5 minutes and discovered that I have the service already paid for as I’ve previously taken out a service plan. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

Appt with podiatrist. Took 2 mins.

Thats 7 minutes of my time after prevaricating for months!

Two down and about 10 more to go…

TiredEyes25 · 04/03/2025 23:13

My leg pain
My MH / exhaustion all rolled in 1
The a4 list of jobs to get done. They are all small and take 10/20 min each but it's just being added to.
My grey hairs

NameChanged25 · 04/03/2025 23:13

I can’t get a smear test….got a link from GP last year to book at local hub but no appointments and then link expired…I’m now on a waiting list to get one from nurse at GP but it’s been 4 months and still waiting….

had a coil fitted 12 month ago when smear was due and asked if they could do it at same time but they refused and said I need separate appointment….so annoying it seems impossible to get one!

Anything that requires a phone call. Especially where it's automated questions first I always put off. I wait till I have a huge list . Then yell maydelf do them all 1 morning then go out to coffee with a friend.
So far I have 3 on the list :/

I have the opposite problem as my surgery keeps hassling me about getting one. I assumed they must get payment for each one as they are so persistent

Me three!

Isn't that just normal life now? I don't ignore anything vastly important (I think)

I have a drippy tap that has its lever wedged to stop it, I bought a new tap. The cupboard under the sink is so packed so I have a full beach over my head for another month probably.

I want to know what a ropey condom is though @CrushingOnRubies

unsync · 04/03/2025 23:22

Yes. Much easier to pretend shit's not happening. I put the pro into procrastination.

Velmy · 04/03/2025 23:22

Yes, but once he's done the hoovering I'll stop ignoring him.

Wobblemonster · 04/03/2025 23:47

A few things, life is a bit challenging at the moment.

Disturbia81 · 04/03/2025 23:53

Yes to smear, I'd rather see if I can do a hpv test

KangaRoo00 · 04/03/2025 23:55

@TheFirstTimeEverISawYourFace Thanks for reminding me !

Hooliewhat · 04/03/2025 23:58

-Renewing DS passport.
-Smear test
-Hair cut
-clothes sort-out for me and dc (pretty sure they have stuff in wardrobes that hasn’t fitted them for a year or more)
-clean inside of kitchen cupboards

ChewbaccasMrs · 05/03/2025 00:26

I have a worrying piece of skin and a mole that's completely changed and yes I know I need to get them looked at but my MIL has not long found out that she has cancer and I don't want to add to the shit show that we're already living through.

So for now I'm hoping by some miracle they will fuck off and be fine.

ZiggyZowie · 05/03/2025 00:28

FlatWhite5 · 04/03/2025 21:18

Yep - had a filling in a tooth a few months ago but it’s started niggling. Turning a blind eye and just avoiding chewing on that side as the dentist said that the only other options would be root canal or extraction - no thanks!!
