What do other people do that you find utterly gross?

For me it's when people gargle, spit, or brush their teeth in the kitchen sink.
You don't often touch the bottom of the bathroom sink, but with the kitchen sink you touch it constantly and wash dishes in there.

We shower in the morning. All very clean and normal people.

Yes same here, as long as my pillowcase is clean I couldn't really care less, as i get a nice fresh shower as soon as I get up in the morning. I hate changing bedding, and whilst its LOVELY, to get into nice fresh sheets it would be so much effort to make both myself and the bed fresh every single night. And you can bet the night the bed is cleanest is the night the baby throws up all over it and you have to put fresh sheets on all over again 😂

Clipping their nails in public. Oddly, I encounter people trimming their nails, including toenails, particularly on the train or bus more regularly than I ever would have guessed possible. Why? Why?!

Twoshoesnewshoes · 04/03/2025 19:33

ewwww
lots of mine already on here,
eating meat
sniffing
having bare feet without nail polish on your toes (female)
having bare feet (male)
wearing shoes in the house
leaving dirty dishes in water for hours

She's probably depressed and finding it hard to look after herself. Nice of you to wonder if she is ok.

My DD works with someone like that. It’s rank!

cramptramp · 04/03/2025 19:34

Let dogs on sofas or chairs, or even worse, on beds. Yuk.

I thought this. Roxy from the adhd love channels on YouTube said she used to struggle with hygiene so she would febreze herself and one day a co-worker went "What is that SMELL" and she ran out crying.
I do struggle to sympathise with this one as I can't bear to not shower every day but I know for some people it's an issue

Leaving their false teeth in my favourite tea mug besides the sink 🤢🤢

This doesn’t feel generalised 😂

AlleyRose · 04/03/2025 19:35

One of my colleagues burps REALLY loud. Like with his mouth wide open to make maximum noise. It actually makes me feel a bit 🤢

Why would anyone do that in an open palm office??

LemonBossy · 04/03/2025 19:36

Lick a their fingers after eating with that loud smacking noise 😱 Ugh!!

Swedish. They were also the world beaters in breaking toilet seats at the hotels.

In their defence, they seem to have a very child centred society and they sermed to think that everybody loved babies so it would be no matter to take away a poney nappy! Also, the toilet seat thing. They are quite more strongly built people and the flimsyness of Southern European sanitaryware might have taken them by surprise.

Redheadedstepchild · 04/03/2025 19:38

I should have checked that before posting!

You’re right, I am surprised as they are a private nation. Would’ve thought they’d want to take their baby mess with them!

Wearing fake nail, acrylics etc (or just having absurdly long nails) and then click clacking them on keyboards, phones, touch screens. It's so gross and all I can think it about the disgustingly gross dirt that must be under the nails 🤢

I agree. I have a "thing" about fingernails and those false ones make me feel sick

Devilsmommy · 04/03/2025 18:14

Hock a loogie right in front of you in public 🤢

I'm guessing this is some sort of manoeuvre in American Football that is technically a foul, but the referee has been blindsided and so doesn't blow his whistley thing and the 'loogiers' gain the advantage?

MarchingintoSpring · 04/03/2025 19:43

When men make that vile noise to hawk up a spit. I called someone a dirty cunt for walking past me and doing it at the weekend.

I thought it was an odd way of saying a wank ?

Tillybud81 · 04/03/2025 19:44

Yep fingernails for me, dirty ones, long ones, painted ones, fake ones
Anything but a clean, short, neat nail is rank 🤢

I have a friend who does this. For 20 years I’ve asked him not to but he still does it.

No it means spit after you've like sniffed up and gathered a sickening amount of mucus

Not probably. There are plenty of people who have either no idea about personal hygiene or just can't be bothered and are not depressed.

WateryBottle · 04/03/2025 19:47

Blondebrownorred · 04/03/2025 19:26

Sleeping with animals in their bed.

Yeah this. I actually can’t believe people do it!

LaPalmaLlama · 04/03/2025 19:47

MyUmberSeal · 04/03/2025 18:16

I’m pretty low maintenance and can cope with most things people do. However, I was sharing a tent with my best mate at Glastonbury years ago, I could hear a shuffling around so unzipped my part of the tent to see what she was doing and she was pooing into a plastic pint glass as she couldn’t be bothered to go to the long-drops. I’ve still not recovered from her level of scuzziness, she’s still my best mate though 😂.

I’m not sure whether to be disgusted or a bit impressed that she was able to aim that well crouched in a tent

SonoPazziQuestiRomani · 04/03/2025 19:48

People who allow dogs on the sofa or bed, especially if they do it in holiday accommodation Angry, or on train seats. Also people who encourage their dogs to lick their faces 🤮

People who have really long nails (whether real or fake, it's gross either way!)

NC28 · 04/03/2025 19:50

Literally came here to say the same as you, OP. Brushing your teeth in the kitchen sink makes me die inside.

Also, the sound of men urinating really gets me. It so loud.

Food in beards.

LemonBossy · 04/03/2025 19:50

Another one - usually men, but anyone who yawns without covering their mouth and making a horrible noise with it. Not just vocalising but a noise that comes from the back of the throat - agh it's so disgusting!
