When did you last see someone smoke a pipe?

Watching Rivals. Yes, I know! But apart from the fact they're ALL smoking cigs, there's the odd pipe smoker.

My dad (RIP 20 years ago) was the last pipe smoker I recall!

Anyone else?

I remember seeing an old man in our street as kids smoking one. They used to repulse me.

Fontella Bass (1960s soul chanteuse) was a pipe smoker and the only woman I've seen smoke a pipe. I'm sure there must have been others.

Such a long time ago now. Dh and I have been known to follow people around who smoke a pipe for the smell.😁

And cigars! To me cigars are the smell of Christmas!!! No one smokes them now that I know or I'd invite them round!

I love the smell of pipe tobacco, much better than cigars!

Erinmore. Lovely smelling stuff. My DH used to smoke a pipe an it was always Erinmore (he gave up 20 years ago.)

Used to buy it in a shop in the Regent's Arcade, Cheltenham, which only sold tobacco, it had a life-size wooden man in a kilt outside.😄 I bet that shop isn't there any more!

edited to add: apparently the wooden Scotsman is now on display in the Museum, or was in 2017, no idea if it still is.

They sell them on Amazon (just checked!) so there must still be pipe smokers about.

Last week! In Italy on the ski slopes. It was a young man in his 20s. I also saw someone smoking and vaping at the same time.

My dad’s stepdad smoked a pipe but that would have been around 1970.
I was trying to think of the tobacco brand so googled a bit and I think it was Clan.
He also smoked Will’s Whiffs cigars.
His Christmas present was easily sorted.

Late FIL is the only person I know who smoked a pipe, but recently I’ve seen a guy (mid/late 30s) around my town a few times who always has one in his mouth.

Last time DH and I passed him we realised we couldn’t smell anything, or see any smoke, which made us think it is an affectation (perhaps a pipe shaped vape?)
