Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone doing today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, after feeding the dickheads kittens. Boy kitten's now perched on the microwave, and girl's playing with something in the living room.

We haven't got much planned for today. I have peg people to finish varnishing for work and another set to try and finish, and we were going to have an hour or two making some bracelets to trade/give away at Gracie Abrams Leeds gig.

Other than that, cleaning up the plant the kittens have tipped over, and collecting a parcel, today will be a very moochy & slow day.

Tea will probably be a takeaway, with a glass or two of wine for me. Then I'll get comfy with my book for a couple of hours while dd1 will probably watch another film - she watched The Craft last night - and dd2 will probably carry on with some prep for an exam on Friday.

Good morning all. We have an extremely rare fully free weekend this week, and no one is ill! This is so unusual that I'm actually at a bit of a loss! DH is on call so will probably be in and out a lot. Just having a coffee while ds watches Shera and the kittens tear round the house. I'll have a look at the to do list in a minute and see what is urgent but I'm inclined to make this a pretty chill day. Might even have a take away for dinner to round off the sloth! Q

I've had two coffees and a hot cross bun, and my weekend soak with scrubs and home facial, listening to my audiobook The 5 types of wealth. Washing done and dryer is on.

Today I'm going to drop some bags of clothes to charity shop, go to new house development to see how our build is coming along. I'll have a salad for lunch and we're having pizzas for dinner. I need to practice my songs for rock choir.

This evening we are going to start watching the new Jack Reacher series.

Probably sleeping 😂. Since mid last week I've had a total hysterectomy and two days later massive GI bleed and had to receive 5 pints of blood. I even nap after a pee. I feel so much better than this time last week though. Possibly get some reading and knitting in.

It’s finally not raining and wind storming here so I’m going to walk out to Tesco today for a top up shop. I’m still in bed after a rough night of the return of peri menopausal night sweats. I woke up drenched in sweat near 3:00am and didn't return to sleep until 5:30am. Bleah!

So yeah, a nice scrubby shower, breakfast then a walk to Tesco. After that I’ll head into the backyard shed office to get some work done. For dinner tonight I’m going to get the delicious ham, mushroom, and marscapone pizza from Tesco. We’ll have that with salad and maybe some fruit for dessert.

Today is clean out the larder day, paint the inside and sort out the contents. I hope there are no huge spiders.
Now that the kitchen is painted, I will have a go at hanging the pan stand on the wall. It is one of those really heavy cast iron sets, so fingers crossed…
There is also the laundry mountain to address and I'm trying to get hold of a plumber to simplify the spaghetti junction of pipes we have in the boiler room, prior to getting some work done in there. Why do they always say they'll come and then not turn up?
Something to do with salmon for dinner tonight and then we will carry on binge rewatching the Expanse.

Good morning! I do so love these threads when I manage to catch them. Your Saturday sounds lovely, OP. I didn't realise the bracelets were a thing for artists other than Taylor Swift.

I am currently avoiding doing work, but once I've posted here and read through everyone's day I really must do it. I have about 90 pieces of English work to mark and a few lessons to plan ready for next half term. It's been lovely having a week off, but I am determined to get everything done today now, so I can relax properly tomorrow before the chaos begins again!

DH has taken DD to riding so I can hide in the office and concentrate. I will take some tea up and I'm sure the dog will join me too. Once I'm done (I'm hoping not to work past 3pm if I can help it) I would love to squeeze in a dog walk, then I will set about baking something (I'm not sure what yet, possibly flapjack or cookies) and make dinner. We are having chicken with a cream sauce with roasted carrots and mash.

Then this evening, DM, DH and I will watch a film whilst the DC entertain themselves elsewhere.

Hopefully, I'll manage to hoover the car out tomorrow before the weather turns and I have some lego to build that I got for Christmas.

I’ve just finished a cuppa in bed and will shortly be hauling myself into the shower.

Dog walk first, then out for a late lunch and Bridget Jones with some friends. I’m looking forward to it, but planning to take my loop earplugs as cannot stand the background noise of people rustling sweet wrappers. I am definitely grumpier about this stuff as I get older!!

Morning! Went out last night with DP so got a bit of a headache. Got the robot hoover on doing it rounds this morning which makes a HUGE difference. I've just sat down to have my first coffee. DP is off skiing today so he's currently with ironing all his tops and packing. I'm meant to then go on a dog walk with a friend but she was at a man's house last night and haven't heard from her. Assuming she's had a very good time 🤣 I'm then out this evening with another friend who I haven't seen since before Xmas so be nice to catch up. X

Waiting for dh as we are going into Liverpool to pick up his new suit for work. I might call into jewellers for a couple of silver chains for pendants. Quick in and out. Co op on way back for Them, dh is putting my new living room side table /drawer together. After lunch, dh picking ds up from gf's and they are taking an amp to get fixed. Ds is in a band and plays guitar so needs it doing.While they're gone, i might carry on with my jigsaw or Calligraphy. Making sausage something for tea then settle down to watch Mm, Casualty and probably another Night Agent /Mentalist on Netflix. We watch Hunted as a family so might catch up, few episodes to watch. Sadly, really gone off BGT. So predictable and samey, seen it all before. It needs resting.

I’m getting over a flu that has trashed all my half term plans, so not much, but I’m determined to get out for some fresh air.

So, I’m going to go outside and tidy up my greenhouse for spring, and measure up for some new panes - the winter storms made a bit of a mess of it.

Then I’m going to drive down to the stables and bring my perpetually hungry pregnant mare in for her tea, and give her a little Fitmums session.

Dd is home from uni she worked last night and didn’t get home until 2am she’s awake I’ve just made her a cup of tea and crumpets she’s seeing a friend today
I’m going to see my mum it was her birthday yesterday she’s making bacon rolls so will leave shortly as need to get her some flowers on the way
I’ll take the dog for a walk when I get back
Tonight we are having a Chinese takeaway and watching a movie with Dd as she’s worked all week so not really spent much time with her

I’ve had 2 cups of tea and the dishwasher has just finished. DD made chocolate cake last night and the kitchen is trashed! I’ve been studying since 8am as I’ve an assignment due in on Thursday (Open Uni). DD is still in bed and I’m hoping to get a few more hours in before she surfaces at lunchtime.
We might go to a garden centre this afternoon. I need a new plant pot and we are hoping to get some shrimp for the fish tank.
Tonight will be chicken curry and the Masked Singer (completely missed it so watching in catch up).
Half term is next week in Wales so looking forward to a bit of a rest from work.

@MoreIcedLattePlease they're definitely a thing for Gracie - and I'll be happy to use up some of the beads I someone overbought for Taylor 🙄. Dd1 says people are making them for Alessi Rose too - handily we're seeing her too! Although I bought some strawberry charms for Alessi, and they're MASSIVE so need to come up with something for those.

I have just donated all sorts of stuff away … again failed projects and interests that lasted 15 mins ( on a good day ) 🤦‍♀️

Morning everyone. Got up and went to Parkrun - got a PB on this course and an all time age graded PB which was unexpected - the double espresso helped I think and I got a good clear start- obviously a lot of people away for half term as our PR can get too busy sometimes- it's like an obstacle course of small dogs and small kids :-). Then went to B&Q to get a roller and some tape as I need to paint the inside of a few fireplaces before the new hearths go in next week. DH has got the chainsaw going on some branches that need to become logs, and I'm going to have a tidy up and get the laundry done/ get organised for next week and the next stage of our renovation. Later on we are going indoor skydiving with 2x BIL, SIL and other random family members. Having dinner out afterwards. No sport fixtures today as it's half term although DD playing rugby tomorrow for another club as they have a touring side coming and are short players.

Lovely sunny day here but very windy so not sure if I will go for my usual son and greyhound walk.
Hoovered the house and away to make a banoffee pie for Sunday lunch.
Later while OH is at the pub I will lie with the cat on top of me watching rubbish telly.

The kids had a sleepover at their grandparents’ last night so a lovely lazy morning! Playing tennis this afternoon then steak for tea, kids will be dropped off before bed.

Always lovely to hear what your kittens are up to.

It's been a rotten week here (I've had a flare of my autoimmune condition and haven't been able to walk and half of us got hit by a sickness bug on Wednesday) so it's a quiet weekend for us.

I've taken the kids to their swimming lessons, then library to return books and then for a quick run around the park. It's all on the same loop and with painkillers I was able to manage. DC1 has a sleepover this evening and I've promised the girls a movie night.

Just about to do scrambled eggs for lunch and probably just oven pizza and garlic bread for dinner. Housework and non essentials are on hold.

DP has just got over being ill and had to work today (self employed) but he'll hopefully be home tomorrow so I can rest before we all go back to school / work. Such a waste of a week.

This afternoon will be a mish mash of homework / chilling and devices before I drop DC1 about 5ish.

@lucysmam It's a big "vintage" Marshal that they don't make anymore. It's going to a specialist but he's independent guy so hopefully not too expensive. Music and playing guitar is such an expensive thing but ds is making it his career so worth it

Just finished painting the skirting board in the lounge, I’m now three quarters down of this never ending project 🤣

I had my last 2 Irish sausages (super Quinn, for those who know) defrosting for a nice relaxed breakfast. But DD's travel arrangements got totally messed up by strikes, rail problems and incompetent staff, so I spent a lot of the morning running around the city to sort it instead.

My laundry done (except to hand wash 5 jumpers), hers in machine. Some food bought so she could eat. Set her up with the rugby match on an iPad (we don't have a channel showing it here).

I am now out again to go finalise paperwork to buy a car and then do proper grocery shopping. Still have to clean the apartment, find a posh dress that fits for Monday, wash my jumpers, de-bobble some jumpers, do ironing, sort clean clothes, and do some work work. And roast a chicken (as that's something dd will eat that I cook).
