So it’s full sleeved, knee length
the body part is opaque

yeah I would 🙂

No, black would feel too dark for a wedding.

BobbyBiscuits · 17/02/2025 01:43

I wore a black dress that was a kind of brocade material with a lacey upper layer. I thought I looked good and had a couple of compliments. The bride was way too busy to give a hoot what I was wearing. Quite rightly.
So I don't see why not?

At this time of year, yes. In the summer, no.

No

Possibly, depending on location, theme, couple etc. But I tend to only get invited to weddings where I actually know the couple getting married, and what their view is likely to be on dress. I’ve therefore never had to think too hard about it. If you have to question your outfit, I’d ask the people getting married for their view.

Yeah, you don't want a bridezilla giving you the death stares all day😂

No, unless it was in the evening and formal.

I once had a friend who was desperate to get married. She wore a sleeveless cream silk long dress. She thought she looked amazing.

getahhtmapub · 17/02/2025 04:59

Yes I did last year. To a very fancy wedding with Morning wear dress code.

It was more dark navy and i had pink accessories; fascinator, bag and shoes.

Looked glam and classy.

biggreenapple24 · 17/02/2025 05:12

No, wouldn't wear black to a wedding in the UK. Other countries seem more relaxed about this.

sugarspiceandeverythingnice12 · 17/02/2025 05:24

You mean as a guest?

No, I wouldn't....but I think that's quite an old fashioned way of thinking

As a guest I DEFINITELY wouldn't wear white or cream or off white

As the bride? Wear anything you like ❤️

HundredPercentUnsure · 17/02/2025 05:29

Nope.

littleblackcat247 · 17/02/2025 05:36

No - tacky

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 17/02/2025 05:39

Not if this is in the UK.

dreamingofpalms · 17/02/2025 06:09

No

Snowmanscarf · 17/02/2025 06:12

It would ‘t phase me, except black isn’t my colour. If I was a goth I would.

CatsWhiskerz · 17/02/2025 06:57

Can you add a link so we can see it

Hercisback1 · 17/02/2025 06:58

Nope. It's considered rude.

isthismylifenow · 17/02/2025 07:01

No. Where I live that is a worse crime than wearing all white.

No all black.
No all white.

EarlierDistraction · 17/02/2025 07:02

No, there are so many other options. Unless the dress code was black tie or similar.

Iwantmyoldnameback · 17/02/2025 07:04

Depends what you mean by opaque top.
