I'm on holiday at the mo in the USA. O had to go to the chemist today for something and it made me wonder if their is anything available over the counter in the USA that we can't get in the UK and is worth stocking up on?

Antihistamines and antihistamine eye drops, theirs are better than ours!

You can get ibuprofen in a bottle with hundreds of tablets in it, instead of the poxy 16 in a pack you get here. SIL brought me one back a few years ago and it lasted absolutely ages. I think they are pretty cheap.

I use Piping Rock for melatonin too. Haven't had any issues with getting it delivered to the UK.

We get giant containers of paracetamol (acetaminophen) and ibuprofen. We also get Aleve (naproxen), and highest strength hydrocortisone.

Melatonin gummies, I'm seriously considering booking a holiday in the US purely to restock.

I get mine from biovea, they have a warehouse in Europe now so delivery is in a couple of days. Not sure how the price compares to buying in the States but will be cheaper than a flight obviously.😂

The biggest Advil bottle you can find! Such amazing value, one of those can last for years.

i don’t think there’s anything I’d buy in the US. Most restrictions here, like paracetamol, are done from sound research, so there’s a reason you can’t buy them otc or in large amount. I sat on a panel once that made the decisions on whether drugs should remain otc or on prescription and believe me, it’s not for giggles or to make people lives harder. If you’re buying these things, you should probably be seeing a HCP for the underlying cause.

This seems to be implying that everyone who buys an XL pack of american paracetamol could end up killing themselves with it or be complicit in someone else's suicide because they went against UK drug restrictions which exist for good reason. That's a ludicrous allegation to be honest. If someone simply has headaches, what's wrong with buying a better value bottle of Tylenol from the USA?
