Has anyone bought anything advertised on social media that wasn’t rubbish?

I don’t mean like Nike advertising on Instagram or Facebook, but more like brands that you only ever see on there.

Sassy saints nail kit. I'm rubbish at doing my nails and it's idiot proof. I can't use a uv lamp so was sceptical but it's just as good as a salon

Crikeyalmighty · 09/02/2025 22:21

Absolutely loads !! Never had a crap one yet

ImAChangeling · 09/02/2025 22:23

The Hobbibear barefoot shoes. For around £20 they are actually good quality. Great if you’ve never tried barefoot shoes before and are reluctant to commit £100+ in case you don’t get on with them.

Vivaia shoes, the pointy flats. Very comfy and look dressy, I have 2 pairs which I have worn to death

The carpet scraper device. Fab! We all love scraping up the fluff.

Is it the horizontal spring with a wooden handle that you use on the stairs?! I got one of those! Love it!

I'm a full time wearer of glasses, I got some sunglasses that you wear over your normal glasses, I love them, total game changer! I got pairs, one for handbag one for car. So much easier than keeping having to swap glasses every time go inside to outside and vice versa. I saw them on an Instagram ad that kept popping up, think the company is Bloombelle sunglasses

Mould magic by must have ideas. It actually works

I came on to say this. I've bought a few things from their website.

EarlierDistraction · 09/02/2025 23:05

Oh yes, the carpet scraper from Must Have ideas, I love that.

GriseldaChop · 09/02/2025 23:13

I've bought Halara jeans and the Tymo rovy hair waver. Was sceptical about both but have since ordered 2 more pairs of Halara jeans. The hair waver is also great!

Merwave hair products. I was straightening my hair before because I thought my hair was unmanageable. Curly girl routine didn't work for me. This is the first timeI have been happy to have curly hair.

Loop earplugs. I got the adjustable ones which are amazing.

Mia Tui Bags.

LindorDoubleChoc · 09/02/2025 23:38

I bought some Mould Magic gel, which was excellent.

I asked for the Saltworks perfume samples set for Christmas this year - and I really do love every single one of the scents.

Oops I mean wavy hair 🤦🏻‍♀️

😍Saltworks perfume discovery sets. Ten samples for £29 I think. You get a £25 voucher towards travel set or full size purchase. I like them a LOT. I've had several sets and they last ages.

😍Only Curls haircare set with free microfibre towel wrap and resin comb.

But I also bought a pair of boots that were 2 sizes too small though labelled my size and a real obstacle course to return, and a set of six matte lipsticks that were frankly horrible. Both turned out to be from China.

Framed pictures from Ink & Drop (Instagram) , waited until they had a sale and bought two - couldn’t believe the quality - frames had glass rather than Perspex /plastic stuff.

tried mould magic but didn’t really work for me.

Biomel complete gut - bought in December - for IBS-C which it claims to help - took a good few weeks but it seems to be working, not a miracle cure but definitely helps.

I’m off to buy the tymo hair thing 😬

More from must have ideas - bags that keep stuff fresh for ages, and a chopping board that defrosts stuff really quickly. Both brilliant.

The Sheen Shield Max from Must Have Ideas is amazing! You can steam iron everything on the same (maximum) temperature which saves so much time, plus you don't have to worry about anything getting stuck to the bottom of the iron.

I keep eyeing up thermal printers and Loops, so I’m interested to hear what others thought of these.

Mould Magic worked really well on grout. Would definitely repurchase.

DH and DD have Loops. They like them.

I've just taken a look at Mould Magic. Does it actually "remove" the mould, or is it essentially a bleach? Does the mould come back?

It's very concentrated bleach.
It did not work that well for me.

Twixtmasjigsaw · 10/02/2025 08:32

Zoeva eyeliner pencil. Makes my eyes pop!

insomniaclife · 10/02/2025 09:31

Another vote for Halara? Trousers. Bought one, hesitantly. Then bought three more cos bloody wonderful.

Otherwise no.

StarCourt · 10/02/2025 11:39

Happy mammoth hormone stuff - I’ve lost over two stone, got my brain back and actually have enough energy to see the day through. Miraculous!

@TheMousePipes can you tell more? Sounds like I need this!

PeachPumpkin · 10/02/2025 13:52

Silver Rain Silver jewellery. Highly recommend it. I’ve ordered many pairs of earrings from them. Really pretty, hard wearing and a fabulous price. They are dispatched quickly too.

Colour Cubes. I like to do colouring in etc, and am rubbish picking colours. They have been great. They are basically 500 different colour palettes.

@XenoBitch what one did you buy and would you recommend it?
I’m looking at Sarah Renae Clark but it’s pricey.
Going to use it for decorating and crafting colour combinations.

Yes, that is the one I have. I bought both volumes. A bit of an impulse buy.. it kept coming up on my FB!
They are great though. Nice to look through for inspiration, and very pretty. Really good quality too.
