I love liquorice and my DH and DD hate it, it’s great if I get given some as I get to eat it all myself. In fact I’ve just treated myself to some and one of the types I’ve ordered are cola liquorice bottles (much to DD’s disgust as she loves cola bottles,) that sound delicious.

Peanut butter is another one I love and they hate.

DH and DD like black pudding but I can’t stand the stuff.

Kids not especially adventurous, they like what they like. OH would eat only meat, dairy and carbs if I didn’t regularly remind him vegetables are a food (very boring conversation). I end up generally eating a narrower range than my preferences to avoid cooking multiple meals.

Mushrooms
Miso soup
Prawns
Sardines
Beetroot
Apricot jam
Marmalade
Lettuce
Stir fry noodles
Tofu
Feta
Stilton
Camembert

Spanish olives out of a tin.

I could eat them by the boat load.

Rye mix sourdough with just mustard (not English mustard) on it as a snack when we score the pergect loaf...

Bell peppers. I have them raw with spred cheese on as a snack.

Kimchi! I love it, my partner can’t even stand the smell of it. But he handles it with grace. 😊

Botmear · 20/01/2025 18:14

Liquorice but I like mine old school in a Sherbet Fountain
Coconut so all the Bountys are mine
Also something from my childhood called Coltsfoot Rock, if you know, you know but I believe it is a Lancashire thing, It is a sweet. My Mum even sent me some through the post because I don't live there anymore. If you love liquorice and aniseed then this might be one to try.

I really wish there were more things but alas everyone here likes a lot of different foods.

I don’t think I like anything that no one else likes in this house. I used to be the only one who liked tiramisu which was brilliant but now both the bloody dds love it too 😭

Until very recently, marinated anchovies. I used to get a pack and snaffle bits in the kitchen while I was cooking. The kids discovered me and now 'stinky fish' is some kind of forbidden fruit that they beg me for. The three of us guzzle it down while DH looks on in disgust.

Black pudding
After eights
Beetroot
Garibaldi biscuits
My list puts years on me!! I'm 50 this year but this is so old fashioned 😂

Loads. Marmite, mustard, capers, green olives, blue cheese, smoked salmon, anchovies, mackerel, horse radish, taramasalata, prosciutto, prawns, any dip. I'm also partial to ultra processed Bernard Matthews turkey ham, and they will only eat the £4 a pack meat.
