Men that travel a lot with their jobs.

What would you say the average percentage would be of men that cheat that travel a lot with their jobs?

In my old job it was possible for senior solicitors to delegate overseas travel. The majority who were decent family men and all of the women did this. Only the minority of men who were shaggers continued to travel frequently.

Mine travelled. And cheated

Same! Too easy..

Mine travels often (most weeks) for work. A couple of my friends have made sympathetic "are you worried?" type overtures in the past and treated me like I was in denial when I said I trusted him implicitly. Honestly I don't think he has ever been unfaithful. Some people think I am naive but I know the man, he's loyal, he's not a liar and his mother would kill him. I'd eat my hat if I was proved wrong!

They definitely do not all cheat given the chance. In my previous job we travelled not lots but a few times a year. One male with us was really good looking had good chat etc and he was married. Despite having many options making it clear they were into him he never once fed it. He was all for his wife and only his wife. Some men are loyal to the core! Some also know they have a Diamond.

BakewellGin1 · 17/01/2025 20:42

If a man wants to cheat he will do it wherever the chance arises whether that be abroad, a different county, closest town or same village.
Where they are doesn't matter

HundredMilesAnHour · 17/01/2025 20:50

It depends on the man and it depends on the job.

I'm female and work in a fairly male dominated industry and used to travel a lot. Most of us, including the men I work with / travel with don't have time to cheat. Or inclination. It's usually a whirl of long days in the office and group dinners with clients / colleagues in the evening. Everyone is shattered as we have to be "on" almost all the time and get minimal time to ourselves. For example, work trips to the US usually meant 4am wake-up for calls with Europe, 6-7am arrival in the US office, work all day and then straight out for drinks & dinner from the office with clients and local colleagues, and back to the hotel around midnight. After a few days of that, everyone is comatose and desperate for sleep and some time alone.

But I used to live (and obviously work) in Hong Kong and some of the men visiting on business trips were definitely off the leash and cheating (or at least trying to). But these were the kind of men who'd try to cheat wherever they were I suspect and were just taking advantage of the easy opportunities. In particular I remember someone very senior visiting and some of us were out at 4am still in a bar and he was all over a woman in there. Two of my local male (married) colleagues/friends insisted I follow the woman to the Ladies and tell her he was married. So I did. Her reaction "it's alright darlin', so am I!". Okay, fair enough. It's not just men then. On the positive side, my two married colleagues/friends were appalled so it's not all men (or women). None of it was nationality related - everyone involved was British.

We used to have several corporate get togethers each year. Lots of bed hoping there so probably lots of cheating but the men were cheating with the women so it would be 50/50. You might as well say do women cheat if given the chance, evidence from those events would be yes. At least it was the same people at each meet up so you got to know what was going on. Their affairs were common knowledge, just ignored.

Dinnerplease · 17/01/2025 20:54

I travel quite a lot for work, and the men that cheat usually do when they are at home anyway. I'm always perky when I come home on account of not having to look after children for 5 days, however.

WonderingWanda · 17/01/2025 20:56

My dh travels, he hates it so I doubt he's cheating.

strawberrysea · 17/01/2025 20:57

Novaavon · 17/01/2025 20:01

They will all cheat if the opportunity arises. But many on here will never believe that.

Agree

obsessedwithfreshbread · 17/01/2025 20:59

My DH is usually away at least once a week and it never occurs to me he's cheating!
He's too knackered from the the drive or a long day with a client to consider much more than food, a couple of pints and starfishing in a hotel bed without fighting me and the dog for the duvet!!

Ponderingwindow · 17/01/2025 21:00

I used to work in a travel heavy, long-hours job. No one who lasted long in the job had not had at least one divorce. I wasn’t privy to the details. It might have been infidelity. It might have been that the people traveling, mostly men, were rarely home and did not do enough to contribute to family life or maintain their relationships.

I got my credit on my cv and got out young.

I think that given the opportunity men and women cheat, well many do.

I travelled a lot and didn't, OH occasionally and he didn't, he tends to avoid women, doesn't trust them.

Wishingplenty · 17/01/2025 21:14

Do you think it depends on the type of work they do. Financial advisor? Despite the dreary job title, I have heard they can be quite wild when let loose.

Dating apps are full of these men. They make a point of saying they travel a lot or are often in London for work etc etc.

DownThePubWithStevieNicks · 17/01/2025 21:21

I travel very regularly for work. It’s obviously only the ones that are blatant about it that I know about, but I do think it’s a small minority.

What all the parents (men and women) do, however, is go hog wild partying. The opportunity to go out on the piss is so tempting that there’s always a bunch of middle aged people off the nightclubs. The child-free tend not to bother because they can go out any time!

PudPudDingDing · 17/01/2025 21:21

Long distance lorry drivers are known for using prostitutes.

MidnightMusing5 · 17/01/2025 21:22

Bit off topic, but what are these job roles that involve so much travel?

That sounds like the sort of daft thing a man who cheats would say!

My ex works abroad weeks at a time and probably cheated ,he cheats on his current partner as a mutual friend told me..glad im out of that!

All of them? Even the women drivers?

Events industry for one. Also know a worker on the oil rigs.

TitaniumTess · 17/01/2025 21:27

I've travelled quite a bit with work, and lived in Singapore for two years. Most men slept with hookers or lost their way in one way or another to be honest. Sorry.

reluctantbrit · 17/01/2025 21:30

For several years DH and I both travelled for work. I definitely felt a lot more relaxed and happy when I had the odd week I could sleep in peace, have food without sorting out a small child, could watch TV or read without anyone talking to me.

DH is similar and we both love the break from the daily life.

Almostwelsh · 17/01/2025 21:31

Finance is one of the worst occupations for cheating in my experience. Especially financial sales

UmbrellaEllaEllaElla · 17/01/2025 21:33

A lot of the time you'd never know.

People always swear yes or no but most times you'd have no idea.
