A niche item or food you could never give up.

Hi all, first ever post so please be kind!

Currently on mat leave and was enjoying some chocolate raisins during a contact nap last night (after DS jabs). I hardly ever have them (choccy raisins) but my God I find them addictive, I could never give them up.

So I am curious. What niche things could you never give up, things you don't have or use everyday but you would be really put out or upset If you could never have/use them again?

good quality square sausage in a well fired roll

(fellow Scot’s will understand)

Port salut cheese. A hefty slice gets me through many a moment when I might otherwise stuff my face with toast or chocolate.

Agree with a PP - capers make everything taste better!

Rose flavoured Turkish delight. I can take or leave the other flavours, but you’ll have to prize this out of my cold dead hands.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Wong Kar Wai films. I’ve seen them so many times already but I’d be very sad if I could never watch them again!

Not so much an item but my chosen genre of music.. Northern soul...40+ years and counting.

Me too, it’s in my bones.
Just have to hear Out on the floor, and I want to dance on a talc covered floor. In my long swirly skirt and my flat pumps.

About 6 weeks ago I actually ran out of garlic granules! Always make sure I have an unopened jar now.

Proper real bagels fresh from the bakery. I really miss the ones in NY that had all different seasoning on. The 'everything' bagel. I've not seen them in the UK.

Lip balms, I have one in every coat pocket and every room in the house.
Crispy onions. They make everything nicer.

Happyhippos123 · 17/01/2025 19:08

Kerrygold salted butter

BigDahliaFan · 17/01/2025 19:09

Crisps. So much that I can’t buy them anymore.

walking outdoors it makes me calmer and happier. I get antsy when I don’t have access to nature.

chillis, I find it very hard to cook without them….

Hurryuphumphreygeorgeiswaiting · 17/01/2025 19:13

Piper cheese and onion crisps.
I have always loved crisps, any flavour since I was a child. Would be happy to just eat crisps and nothing else but have to limit them due to my waist line.
Not to night, Friday night, crisp night.

Hoppingabout · 17/01/2025 19:15

Tea

That's probably it. I'm surprised at how low maintenance I am now!
