FGS some of these replies are ridiculous. The op asked if anyone had used them not for a judgement on what she spends her money on. I don't think she was asking any of you to pay it back.

Thank you, honestly some people. I never asked for advice about carpet just for some reviews, I know I could use rugs I don’t want to!

Mixed reviews on Trustpilot at 3.8 but a lot of the issues seem to be related to fitting. My SD bought the flooring from them but someone else fitted it for her so you might want to consider that.

Oh I see thanks I will have a look now.

Cant you find reviews on trustpilot or Google? This isnt a place to get reviews without questions and comments.

I thought they were a scam company. Have a look on Gumtree or FB market place for any cheap or free cut offs. You can sometimes pick up large off cuts of carpets very cheaply or for free.

I just did a search on Gumtree and found a hallway & stairs carpet piece for £30.

Agreed it's not ideal to have stained carpets. However, if things are tight (and absolutely zero judgement here) then I feel the pointers towards making do here are pretty sage advice. What if something unexpected happens - boiler packs in / washing machine needs repairs etc - these are essential items in any family home and will need attention asap.
I've lived with stained carpets for years until I save enough to replace all the old, worn out carpets. Your friends and family won't judge you for living with what's there til you can replace it.
Remember - those that matter don't mind, and those that mind don't matter.

Only they do judge 🤣 anyway I can replace washing machines etc easier as I have an argos card and they are considerably cheaper, carpets aren’t cheap especially when I need to do 3 rooms and stairs/ landing

@OceanTurtle apologies, I hadn't considered new hardboard. Not trying to distract you.

LuckyCharm9 · 10/01/2025 21:13

A friend of mine used them and really rated them, she also had blinds fitted by them to.
the carpet she chose is really nice and is still holding up well a few years later.

BringOnTheSunshineNow · 10/01/2025 22:21

I'd get a 0% credit card and pay that off over 18 months/2 years op

Is that an option?

mitogoshigg · 10/01/2025 22:43

Rooms can also be renovated easily with laminate flooring, it's easy to fit yourself (electric saw an advantage but you could use hand tools) we did a whole house bar the stairs which we painted brown with no previous experience. Started off using the cheapest stuff from b&q and later on switched to real wood, took 5 years to do whole house room by room, it's normal for houses to take time (stairs had to be on day one due to previous owners dog weeing on it repeatedly!)

I have old tatty stained carpet at the moment not that I need to explain to you but it’s embarrassing when people visit

I have tatty stained carpet too , yes you do need to explain as your post was too vague and your thinking a bit odd so an explanation was necessary
my friends know I’m skint and when I have some spare cash I will do all the things around my home that need fixing, you have replied bluntly and rudely to every post , do you talk to people in real life like this ? , you asked a question I gave my honest answer
yes it’s nice to have your home how you want it but it’s not worth getting into debt for it
you seem determined to do whatever regardless of advice

Edited

She asked if people had used this company! not for an unwanted critique of her decision making. Proffering an unsolicited opinion is also rude

JaninaDuszejko · 07/02/2025 15:52

I haven't used the company so can't comment on that, sorry. I can say that some posters are being very rude questioning @OceanTurtle about why she needs new carpets when she doesn't have the cash upfront. Carpets are hardly a luxury in this country.

Other possibilities: there's a lot of used carpet for sale very cheaply on ebay, you could check and see if there's anything local to you. FBMP and Gumtree might also have some options. That is a considerably cheaper option that wouldn't require credit and could do as a stop gap until you can get a new carpet.

You could ask in 'normal' carpet shops about offcuts and roll ends, might be a cheaper option. There are also dedicated websites devoted to selling offcuts and roll ends which might be worth looking at. I realise these might be harder to acess for you though.

showmethegin · 07/02/2025 18:35

Bit different but have you looked at carpet cleaning companies? Some of them come up so much cleaner than you could ever imagine! We just had ours done, £69 for the whole of upstairs. It looks new!

It’s really odd that you are insisting on buying new carpets despite saying you are struggling , desperate and have bad credit rating ?

carpets are luxury things you buy when you have money and can shop around
they are not a necessity?

too odd ?

Unless you are moving into a social housing property as they come with no carpets/flooring - it is usually the wonky hardboard and stairs that have splinters and the likes sticking out 🤦🏼‍♀️
