I love the idea of living in a place where you're directly on the high street like that, but probably don't get an endless parade of people walking past. I wonder how long the shoe bath takes to fill?

Am I the only person who feels it would be awful to live in?! There's something unsettling about it. I would be far to frightened to even visit there, never mind live there. Looks creepy/haunted.

No, it's awful! The furniture is all too big for the house, it's really weird.

The pulpit beside the bed is...interesting. That room could be a Tracy Emin- style installation...very thought provoking!

Pumpkincozynights · 06/01/2025 07:52

How very interesting.
How contradictory in style.
From ancient to modern in one fell swoop.
I don’t like the kitchen if I’m honest. I think that could have retained a slightly more traditional feel. I’m not sure about the bathrooms either but could probably live with those.
Lovely views and great location.
My concern would be the narrow alley down which your car needs to fit, not that I have a big car.
Love the courtyard.
Overall a yes from me ( I’d have to drive through to the back though to check the size of the driveway.)

I just did a search on House Prices 'Castle Street, Conwy' and the photos are exactly the same apart from the beds have mattresses so have they just waited a few years and whacked £700k on???

It'll be because it's been rented out at some point, not because it was sold like that.

VerbenaGirl · 06/01/2025 07:58

That is brilliant!
Love the EA’s wording:
“Highly Individual Home With A Definite Splash Of Glamour”
“A most fascinating and intriguing Grade II* Listed Residence”

mindutopia · 06/01/2025 08:06

It’s the furniture that makes it though. Empty it out to bare rooms and it’s actually going to be really blah. Except for the kitchen and bathroom. 😳 That poor estate agent.

Wonder what the rug in pic 31 is covering up?

😂 Yes, the couple who sold us our house had this amazing rug in the main reception room. It’s a huge rug and a huge room, and Dh and I were like, god, where are we ever going to find a rug like that?! Then just before completion they asked if we’d want them to leave the rug and a few other garden things. They were moving into a much smaller house as downsizing so it wouldn’t fit in their new place anyway. And we were like, yes, please because it really just suits the room.

We lived here about a year before we thought to lift up the rug. There’s no bloody floor underneath! 🤣 It’s just bare concrete. No wonder they were keen to leave the stupidity massive rug!

I would love to live in Conwy. It’s a brilliant place.

Talk about delusions of grandeur 🤨👠🫧

He/she definitely likes to pretend they live in a castle 🏰

Kitchen reminds me of a Rubix cube.

My first thought was that it looked like L’Oreal Studio Line packaging design from the 80s.

MagentaRocks · 06/01/2025 20:55

That would be my dream house if detached with a decent garden, a normal bath and a more suitable kitchen for the property.

Sinkintotheswamp · 06/01/2025 20:57

It looks like a mess to me. The photos aren't great.
