I've made £89.90 from 22 sales. Plan on listing more often!

OP posts:
Shortkiwi · 19/05/2025 22:21

Sold 156 items over last couple of years. Made £1350. Bought quite a bit too though!

MustBeCrazyMama · 19/05/2025 22:37

I've been selling since 2023 and have made £859. Got a lot of decluttering to do in the next few weeks so hoping to make a decent amount from that

Loubilou23 · 20/05/2025 12:59

I am at £2,396.50 for 75 items sold.

I continue to be astounded by sellers and their expectations to actually sell something. Stuff creased to the nth degree, even stuff new with labels, why on earth wouldn't you just iron it and make it look nice? Brand new high end items thrown on the floor to have the picture taken and creased - again why? There is a seller who lists an awful lot of ME&EM dresses and they are just strewn out on the floor, bad pictures and creased - really puts me off buying anything from them.

I bought a reasonable mannequin from Amazon, was only £50 and makes such a difference to how the clothes look.

Also pictures of clothes that are blurred, can't see the item properly, the wrong description on the item. People who don't respond to a question.

People who take a picture of the item on them but the item is so creased you can't actually see what it looks like - just why?

Does make me laugh.

£1,081 from 53 items.

I am glad I can’t see how much I have spent!
I do have a fantastic wardrobe now though.

In the last two years I have sold items and made £506 on Vinted. HOWEVER I have spent £888.92. Overall my net deficit is £381.33.

Admittedly, I did spent £203 on one virtually new electrical item which would have cost £500 brand new and I love. I also bought some new Christmas gifts on here in December, which even with postage would have cost me more in the shops. However, adding this up has been quite a shock.

EBay is a little better. I have only been using this for 2 months. Sold £71 and bought £48.44, so a net gain of £22.56.

Really need to do better in 2025.

Can you see how much you have spent on there or is that you keeping a personal tally?

Namechange2567 · 20/05/2025 18:40

I’ve made £6231 on 53 items over a few years

notnorman · 20/05/2025 18:42

£140 on ten sales last month

I prefer it to Facebook marketplace as the item gets posted. Bit annoying the new Royal Mail option - would like be able to print the label rather than have to queue up at the post office. They have the post boxes but you can not use them without the label already printed 😵‍💫

I like to see how much I can build up. Used it over the summer to pay most of the ferry to Ireland for two cars.

You can buy a label printer on Amazon too. Worth the investment if you sell a lot.

You can see how much you have spent.....just need to add it up but there is a list of "bought" items in your profile

Shizzlestix · 20/05/2025 19:39

Pretty much broke even this month, some stupid buys. I’m a bit obsessed. I made a killing selling very large sizes (26/24) but I find 14s don’t sell fast, probably cos there are loads. I have brogues on watch, I wish the buyer of the ones she just picked up would click the button!

I go through addictions, so heels in all colours, then jeans (but I only wear one pair 🤦🏼‍♀️), then jumpsuits.

CoCoJones26 · 22/05/2025 14:18

Picked up my first vinted item this week, very pleased as exactly as described, in as- new condition.
This has encouraged me to start selling!

Netcurtainnelly · 02/08/2025 22:42

Not long joined. Bought three items. Expecting them all next week.

Are you sure you’ve only sold 49 items? That would have to be an average of £32 per item so unless you are selling high end luxury things that’s doesn’t seem quite right.

I’ve made about £480 from 17 items so far so that checks out to me. I live quite rurally and don’t bother with selling anything under £10 because it’s more faff than it’s worth getting to the post office or drop off point for £3.

ItsFridayIminLoveJS · 02/08/2025 23:04

£112 this month. Over £2000 this year. See photo.
I sell at least one item per week.. l sell for myself and my sister.. lost loads of weight so loads to sell.

How well do you do on Vinted?
mildlysweaty · 02/08/2025 23:08

Nearly £3k now over 2 years

Mildred01 · 02/08/2025 23:10

I’ve made exactly £0 with about 10 listings over a year!
How much are you guys listing your items for and what kind of clothing/items?
I listed a hush skirt (worn once) for £6 and still no takers.
an adidas jumper brand new for £8, lots of likes but no sales.
I don’t bother trying to sell but everyone I know buys from vinted and spend a lot more, like £20-£40 on one item but I can’t make one sale!

Mildred01 · 02/08/2025 23:10

Wow @mildlysweaty that’s nice spare change!

harrysally · 02/08/2025 23:17

Could I please jump on this thread and ask when you buy clothes from Vinted do you wash them separately for the first wash.
i never have but a colleague informed me that you should because of all the germs 🤷

anon2022anon · 03/08/2025 06:46

@harrysally no. I normally bung them in the wash with everything else, if it's new with tags I don't bother washing. I don't know of any germs that can live in clothes and do me serious damage.

InNeedOfASideHustle · 03/08/2025 07:02

I started selling 2 years ago and have 'made' £1500 in that time. However, I sell mainly new items that I've bought and never got round to returning or didn't end up using so it's more of a claw back than any profits. 😭

Onemoret1me · 03/08/2025 07:32

I’ve got piles of clothes I want to list but haven’t got around to doing so

what do you find sells well? Is it particular brands, sizes, items?

I plan to take nice clear pictures of uncreased clothing. Am I better to sell individual items or as bundles?

sciaticafanatica · 03/08/2025 07:52

I made £202 in July from 14 items .
Im keeping it in my Vinted till Christmas.
ive found uploading Wednesdays and Sundays is the main sales day for my items

AlphaApple · 03/08/2025 08:07

£1.5k from I don’t know how many items, but selling prices were between £3 and £30.

About £800 was clearing out a deceased relative’s home. With permission from her son, I sold her hoard of new and nearly new clothes. The money went to her grandson as he went off to university.

Do you have good photos with measurements? And flowery descriptions? I use the words “flattering” and “comfortable” a lot in my listings and they work.

I am being honest, after years of hiding my lumpy bits and having an aversion to constricting clothing, pretty much everything I own is flattering and comfortable!
